I Was His Wife, Then His Widow, Then No One's But My Own novel Chapter 374

Finnegan's jaw locked so tight his teeth ground together. The sight of them made the veins on the back of his hand bulge violently. If Cassie hadn't thrown a tantrum about wanting to eat at this specific restaurant, he would have never stumbled upon this sickening display.

Nora was smiling so sweetly at Xander. She hadn't looked at him with that kind of pure, unadulterated happiness in a very long time.

Finnegan glared at Seraphina coldly. "Let go. I won't say it again."

Seraphina physically recoiled, terrified by his explosive anger. He had never looked at her with such terrifying intensity before.

She slowly released her grip, her voice adopting a deeply patronizing tone of caution. "Finn, even if you march over there right now, you're only going to humiliate yourself."

Cassie, sitting beside them, shrank back into her seat, utterly terrified by her father's darkened expression, too afraid to even make a sound.

Seraphina's mind raced. She absolutely could not let Finnegan confront them. That would yield zero benefits for her.

But she wasn't about to let this slide, either. How could she pass up such a golden opportunity to destroy Nora?

"Finn, I'm not just trying to stir the pot, but Nora hasn't officially severed ties with the Fletcher family yet. For her to blatantly parade around with another man, playing house with a kid—she's entirely in the wrong here."

Finnegan scowled heavily. "What exactly are you implying?"

Seraphina offered a sickly sweet, placating smile. "Just think about it rationally. What is Nora's current status? She's still the Fletcher family's daughter-in-law. Technically, she’s still your wife. How can she casually flaunt her new romance with another man in the middle of a crowded restaurant?"
