I Was His Wife, Then His Widow, Then No One's But My Own novel Chapter 334

They soon arrived at the villa.

Nora pushed the door open and stepped out of the car. She paused when she didn't see Bonnie waiting for her. Usually, the moment she stepped out, Bonnie would launch herself like a little missile to hug her.

This time, there was no one.

Nora raised an eyebrow in surprise. Had Bonnie found out about her impending marriage to Xander and was struggling to accept it?

A sudden wave of anxiety washed over Nora. "Mr. Harrison, maybe I should come back another day?"

Xander turned to look at her. "Nora, is our relationship still at the point where you call me Mr. Harrison?"

Nora hesitated, the tips of her ears flushing warm.

"Xander..."

She forced a slightly awkward smile. "What should I call you then?"

Xander's lips curved upward. "Xander. Or fiancé. Either works."

At the word 'fiancé,' her ears burned even hotter.

She moistened her lips, her gaze darting away.

"Xander... maybe I should just come back another day?"

Xander stepped closer, his hand gently wrapping around her wrist. "What's wrong? Is there someone here you don't want to see?"

Nora shook her head. "No, it's just... does Bonnie know about us... um, getting married?"

Xander shook his head. "Not yet."

He seemed to be in a remarkably good mood, his features softer and more relaxed than usual.

Nora's heart skipped a beat. Bonnie didn't know yet? Was he waiting for her to break the news?

"We're already here. Whatever it is, come inside for a bit."

Unable to graciously decline, Nora followed him in.

The moment she stepped through the door, Xander handed her a set of clean clothes. "Go take a hot shower first."
