Felix rushed forward from the other side at almost the exact same moment, but his fingers only managed to brush against Nora's sleeve.
Down in the audience, Xander witnessed the scene and shot to his feet, his expression instantly turning completely icy.
Bonnie's eyes widened in horror. She slapped both of her tiny hands over her mouth, then frantically pushed at Xander's arm, crying out in panic, "Dad! Dad, quickly, go check on Nora! I think she's hurt! Go!"
The entire stage had plunged into total chaos.
Cameramen in the media section ducked backward, hauling their heavy equipment. Some reporters shrieked and bolted for the exits, while others instinctively raised their phones to record the carnage.
Security guards swarmed the stage from every direction. People were screaming to call an ambulance, others were trying to evacuate the guests, and the entire hall devolved into a frantic mess.
Nora wasn't crushed. Finnegan had taken the hit for her.
He was collapsed over her, his back having absorbed the direct impact of the heavy metal frame. A brutal gash sliced across his back from the jagged metal edge.
The wounds from his previous punishment hadn't fully healed yet. The crushing weight of the chandelier ripped every single old wound wide open.
Within seconds, all the color drained from his face, leaving him as pale as a sheet. A sheen of cold sweat broke out across his forehead.
Nora scrambled out from under him. When she saw the rapidly expanding pool of dark red blood soaking his back, her face twisted in horror.
She pressed her hands hard against the worst of the bleeding, screaming hoarsely into the panicked crowd, "Call an ambulance! Call an ambulance!"
The crowd was a frantic blur, but someone finally managed to dial emergency services.
*Nora, you finally got what was coming to you. You really thought you could fight me for Finnegan? Keep dreaming.*
She had manipulated Sienna's hatred for Nora to a point where all rational thought was gone. She knew Sienna wouldn't hold back.
Seraphina took her time standing up, grabbed her designer clutch, and walked out to her car. Only then did she start the engine and drive leisurely toward the venue.
She had purposely avoided watching the live broadcast because she wanted to save the surprise for herself.
When she arrived at the venue and saw Nora lying in a pool of blood, she planned to put on the performance of a lifetime, acting like a devastated, panic-stricken friend in front of everyone.
The mere thought of it made her smile widen, and she hummed a cheerful little tune as she drove.
