I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 358

Sienna tilted her head back and took another long pull of beer.

"Don't even mention him," she scoffed. "Finn is no saint either."

She had definitely drank too much. Her cheeks were flushed with a rosy hue, and her eyes were a bit bloodshot.

She finished one can, immediately cracked open another, and looked up at Lily with total sincerity.

"Lily, you are seriously my best friend. Yesterday at the Eastside District, when I decided to dump Silas, the very first thing I had to do was return his money. Without clearing that debt, I wouldn't have even had the backbone to say the words 'break up.' When I called you, you wired me the cash without a second of hesitation. You're amazing, honestly. I swear, I'll find a way to pay you back."

Lily blinked in surprise, then let out a laugh.

She reached over and ruffled Sienna's hair.

"There is zero rush. Just focus on getting yourself settled first. It's not like I'm hurting for cash."

"Fifty grand... is not pocket change. I need to hustle, make bank, hustle..." Sienna's tongue was starting to betray her.

Seeing Sienna stressing over the money, Lily gestured to the massive apartment they were sitting in.

"Look around, babe. I am living the dream now. I used to be crammed into a tiny staff dorm, and now I'm lounging in a luxury penthouse. You seriously don't need to rush to pay me back. That money was part of the eighty-eight grand nest egg Isaac's parents gave me as a wedding gift. I literally couldn't spend it all if I tried. It was just sitting in my account gathering dust, so it was perfect timing for you to use it."

Sienna threw her arm around Lily's shoulder.

"Lily, you got so much luckier than me. You found a truly good man. I am so, so happy for you."

Lily gently pulled the beer can out of Sienna's hand.

"Stop talking nonsense. You've got a good man right in front of you too, like Finn..."

Before she could even finish her sentence, she looked down. Sienna's eyes were shut tight; she had passed out cold.

The next morning, Sienna woke up sweating profusely.

She rolled over, peeling her face off the pillow. Before she even fully opened her eyes, she felt her temples violently throb.

The hangover hit her like a freight train. Her brain felt like it was stuffed with wet cotton—heavy, throbbing, and completely useless.

It took her a full minute to remember she was in Lily's apartment.
