Yolanda's face drained of color.
Everyone's gaze followed Sienna's, landing uniformly on Yolanda.
She stood there, feigning composure with her spine perfectly straight, refusing to let her poise slip.
She never expected Sienna to be so brazen.
She had truly underestimated her enemy.
Secretly adjusting her demeanor, a smile resurfaced on her cheeks.
"Sienna, that's simply not true. These reporters..."
"You're going to say you didn't invite them?" Sienna finished for her with a sweet smile. "At Mrs. Fletcher's birthday gala, even a guest with a formal invitation like myself was stopped by security. So tell me, how did these reporters waltz in here without your express permission?"
The surrounding guests nodded in agreement; it was a valid point.
Yolanda's smile froze.
Sienna didn't even look at her. She retracted her gaze and focused on the reporter.
"Keep asking."
The reporter held up the microphone, unable to make a sound for a long while.
All his prepared questions were completely derailed.
They never anticipated that Sienna would direct the fire straight at Yolanda.
The banquet hall fell silent for a few seconds.
The reporter stood there with the mic, completely lost for words.
Finn stood in the crowd, staring at Sienna's profile.
The overhead lights spilled over her, illuminating her sharp silhouette.
She felt like a total stranger.
He didn't know what to do, just standing there like a mere outsider.
Sienna stared the reporter down.
"Done asking? Then let me ask you a question. Which publication are you with?"
The reporter's eyes flickered nervously.
"The Metropolis Insider."
Sienna nodded.
She finished her cocktail and set the glass down.
"Unfortunately for you, I'm not the type to be easily destroyed. I have absolutely nothing left to lose. If Mrs. Fletcher isn't afraid of a public humiliation, why should I be?"
She turned around and faced Yolanda.
"Mrs. Fletcher, the reporters are done. Since you're the one who invited them, shouldn't you be the one to see them out?"
Yolanda's carefully constructed mask shattered.
She opened her mouth to argue, but couldn't manage a single word.
The gazes of the surrounding guests pinned her down like needles.
People were whispering, some were laughing, and others were shaking their heads in dismay.
These were all VIPs who frequently associated with the Fletcher family.
Grant hadn't arrived yet. If he found out about this, she was done for.
A suffocating wave of panic washed over Yolanda.
She couldn't confess. If she admitted to it, everything would be ruined. As long as she denied it and controlled the narrative, no one could touch her.
