I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 249

Sienna stared down blankly, her hand instinctively flying to her neck. She brushed her fingers against her collarbone, finding it empty.

Because she hadn't worn it for so long, she hadn't even realized The Butterfly Pendant was missing.

"How did you end up with this?"

It was only when she took it that she noticed the dented section had been completely restored. The silver was polished and pristine, looking as though it had been meticulously cared for.

If it weren't for the "SQ" initials engraved on the back, she would have suspected it was a completely different necklace.

"You got it fixed? When?"

Jorrod's dark eyes locked onto hers, his gaze heavy and intensely profound.

He wasn't used to this.

He wasn't used to lowering his head, and he certainly wasn't used to yielding.

In his world, he only ever issued orders. The words he was about to say were entirely foreign to his usual vocabulary.

In the tense, quiet air, his lips parted slightly. "I'm sorry."

His voice was incredibly low, his expression betraying no excess emotion. Even so, Sienna found herself rubbing her ears in disbelief.

She felt like she was hallucinating.

"When we separated, I had some misunderstandings about what happened between us."

"Ah?"

"My memories didn't come back all at once. They returned in broken, disjointed fragments."

Sienna was stunned.

"So," Jorrod frowned, a troubled look crossing his face as he recalled the moment. "When I recovered for the second time, the first thing I remembered was seeing you tie me to the bed, scold me, bite me, strip off my clothes, and then..."

He paused briefly. "You got on top."

So, bringing it up now, the agonizing sting of heartbreak was entirely gone.

She simply shrugged. "Forget it."

She was about to add something else when Jorrod's calm voice interrupted her. "What you brought up when you came in. You... still prefer it?"

Prefer.

It was a word he had seen frequently while scrolling through The White Phone.

Reminded of her original purpose, Sienna's eyes lit up. She nodded eagerly, doing her best to convey her absolute loyalty to the design industry. "Yes, absolutely! It's been my passion for so long, that doesn't just change overnight. You know how I used to..."

Remembering that their initial encounters at the company hadn't exactly been harmonious, she cleared her throat and got straight to the point. "Um... I just came up here to see what your thoughts were."

After speaking, Sienna sneaked a glance at the man's face. His eyes were slightly lowered, giving away no shift in emotion, making it impossible to tell if he approved or objected.

After all, a department transfer required going through a lot of bureaucratic red tape. She didn't expect him to agree on the spot.
