HIS REGRET (Ex-Husband wants Me Back) novel Chapter 943

The iron door continued to open slowly.

Light from outside streamed in, dazzling Naomi's eyes, which had long since grown accustomed to the dimness of the room. She narrowed her eyes, trying to make out the figure standing in the doorway.

The tall silhouette paused for a moment, then a voice that sounded faintly familiar reached Naomi's ears.

“Naomi!”

Naomi's heart seemed to stop beating. “Brandon? Is that you?”

“Yes, it's me.”

He immediately hurried over to her. His eyes were filled with relief, though concern was still evident on his face. For a brief moment, Brandon could see the relief reflected in Naomi's tear-filled eyes.

“Don't worry. We'll be out of here soon.”

Naomi gave a slight nod. “Thank you.”

Brandon immediately checked Naomi's surroundings. From time to time, he also spoke with the other Alpha Team members who were spread throughout the building. Speaking in a low voice, he informed them that Naomi had been found and instructed them to secure the evacuation route immediately.

“Can you stand?” Brandon asked after making sure the area around Naomi was temporarily secure.

Naomi nodded. “Yes. It's just that my leg hurts a little.”

Her gaze dropped to the shackle still fastened around her left ankle. The iron chain scraped softly as she tried to move it. It still hurt, but the relief slowly filling her chest was far stronger than the pain.

Brandon followed Naomi's gaze. Only now did he clearly see the small wounds covering her arms, her pale face, and the elderly woman who had been sitting just in front of her all this time with her frail body, seemingly still trying to protect Naomi without even realizing it.

Brandon's expression softened. “Who is she?”

“Oh... she...”

“Viola,” the elderly woman answered softly.

Her voice remained calm, but both of her hands were still trembling. Her gaze shifted between Brandon and Naomi, as though only now did she truly believe that the people who had come were not Falcon's men.

“Yes... Mrs. Viola,” Brandon said with a respectful nod.

Naomi immediately turned to him. “She's the one who has been taking care of me all this time. If it weren't for Mrs. Viola...” Naomi paused for a moment, trying to hold back her emotions. “I don't think I would have been able to endure it.”

Brandon gave a slight nod. There was no time to ask further questions. “We have to get out of here right now.” He pressed the small button on the communication device in his ear. “Alpha Team, report your status.”

“What a truly touching reunion.”

The man finally stepped out of the darkness. A pair of black leather shoes landed calmly on the concrete floor. They were followed by neatly pressed slacks, untouched by even a speck of dust. Then his face slowly emerged beneath the dim light.

Falcon.

A faint smile rested on his lips, his gaze was cold, and there wasn't the slightest trace of panic on his face.

Both of his hands remained tucked into his trouser pockets, as though he were casually strolling into a dinner party rather than standing in the middle of a warehouse that was about to become a battlefield.

“At last,” he said softly, looking Brandon straight in the eye. “You finally made it.”

Brandon didn't take his eyes off him for a single moment. His pistol remained trained directly at Falcon's head. “Your game is over.”

Falcon merely let out a quiet laugh. It was soft, yet filled with unmistakable contempt. “Over?” He slowly shook his head, as though he had just heard the funniest joke in the world. “You still don't understand, my dear little brother.”

Falcon's cold gaze shifted to Naomi for a moment, making sure she was still within his reach. Then his eyes returned to Brandon. The faint smile at the corner of his lips slowly widened.

“You think you found this place because of your own abilities?”
