His Regret Arrived Three Days Late novel Chapter 200

Tyler could see she was in a bad state and snatched the bottle from her hand. Annika, enraged, her eyes red with fury, grabbed it back.

Watching her try to drink herself to death, Tyler felt a sharp pain in his heart. After she finished the bottle and reached for another, he wrapped an arm around her waist and lifted her into his arms.

Annika immediately started struggling, her small fists hammering against his shoulders in wild, furious little blows. She bent her head and bit down hard on his shoulder.

A sharp, searing pain spread through him, but he just hissed and carried her out. He deposited her in the passenger seat before walking around to the driver’s side and starting the car.

Annika grabbed his arm, her words slurring. “Where… are you taking me?”

The faint streetlights cast a pale, sickly glow on her face. Her eyes, usually as clear as glass, were fixed on him, and Tyler’s gaze darkened. He swallowed hard. He wanted nothing more than to take her home with him, but his conscience screamed at him not to take advantage of her.

Besides, if she woke up in his bed tomorrow, she would hate him for it.

“I’m taking you back to the Sargent Villa,” Tyler said firmly.

“No,” she pouted, her face soft and dangerously alluring. “Take me to your place.”

A sudden heat flared through Tyler.

“Annika, don’t tempt me,” he growled. “You know I can’t resist you.”

“Heh,” she laughed softly. Her slender, pale fingers traced the strong line of his jaw. As she looked at him, her eyes filled with tears. No one knew how much her heart was aching. If only she could love him a little less, how much easier it would be. If only the man before her was him.

Tyler knew she was mistaking him for someone else. A sour feeling washed over him. Pushing down his own desires, he gently removed her hand and put the car in drive.
