Left with no other choice, Xavier carried Lydia into his bedroom.
He laid her down on the bed, hesitating for a long moment before finally reaching out to unzip her soaked puffer jacket.
However, the moment he pulled the heavy coat off, he realized she was only wearing a tight, thin white knit sweater underneath.
Hell. No bra.
Xavier's Adam's apple bobbed uncontrollably. He immediately ripped his gaze away from her chest, walked over to the window, lit a cigarette, and clamped it between his teeth.
Once he had cooled down, he walked back over to the bed and helped peel off her wet jeans.
Thank god she was wearing leggings underneath.
After tucking Lydia under the heavy blankets, he stood by the bed, staring down at her with a wildly complex look in his eyes.

Their eyes met, and Xavier's heart skipped a beat.
Through the haze of her drunken stupor, Lydia blinked, seemingly trying to bring the man hovering above her into focus.
Suddenly, she reached up, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck.
Caught completely off guard, Xavier was pulled down by her momentum, his weight pressing against her. Before his mind could even process what was happening, a pair of soft, cold lips crashed against his.
A flash of pure shock ripped through his dark eyes.
Xavier's heart hammered against his ribs. His entire body went rigid, too afraid to even breathe.
But the whisper that slipped past her lips a second later made his blood run ice-cold.
"Simon..."
Xavier froze for several excruciating seconds. He stared down at her flushed, tear-stained eyes, his voice coming out raw and gravelly. "Lydia, look at me. Look closely at who I am."
"Simon..."
He gently pulled the covers back up to her chin.
A helpless, bitter smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. "Idiot. Do you really love him that much?"
