She looked up to see Yorath stepping out, dressed in a champagne-colored silk robe. His damp hair dripped water, and the open lapels of the robe exposed a broad expanse of heavily muscled chest. He was tall and exceptionally lean, radiating a powerful, masculine elegance.
His body had always been Ottilie's absolute favorite thing about him. The way he felt under her hands, his intoxicating scent, his relentless stamina...-
If she hadn't been so overwhelmingly physically attracted to him, she would never have agreed to be his kept woman in the first place.
Yorath walked over to the sofa and sat down, gracefully crossing one long leg over the other. The movement caused the robe to part all the way down to his waist. The sharp, sculpted lines of his abdomen were aggressively aesthetic—and in motion, he was a force of nature she could never defend against.
In the past, faced with such a blatant temptation, she wouldn't have been able to resist throwing herself at him, kissing and biting him ravenously.
Now, presented with the exact same visual feast, her appetite was completely dead.
"Mr. Fordham, your order is on the table. Will there be anything else?"
Yorath picked up the cigar box and slowly pulled one out.
This was the exact cue for her past, desperate self to eagerly rush forward with a lighter.
But she stood there like a statue, completely indifferent, until he finally had to light it himself.
He exhaled a thick plume of smoke. "Your ten-year contract with the agency hasn't expired. Now that you're out of the hospital, you're reporting back to work."
Her agency was owned by the Fordham family. It only managed two talents. Her and Nyssa Tarrant.
The agency had been established right after she started sleeping with Yorath. She had foolishly believed he created it entirely for her.
But then Nyssa graduated, signed on, and suddenly every major resource and premium role was funneled directly to her. She was meticulously marketed as the entertainment industry's pure, untouchable darling.
Meanwhile, Ottilie was cast as the malicious, universally hated villainess—the dark shadow designed specifically to make Nyssa shine brighter. She was reduced to a pretty face with absolutely no redeeming qualities.
