Soren immediately stepped forward, dragging Tanya out the door.
Sitting in the car, Tanya finally let out the breath she had been holding in her chest.
She covered her face with one hand and her chest with the other, tears streaming down her cheeks.
Soren looked at her. "Tanya, I'll take you to the hospital first."
"Take me back to the main estate," she spat. "I want to see Mrs. Fordham. I want her to see my bleeding mouth and the bruise on my face."
Soren offered a highly polite, entirely hollow smile. "Tanya, Ms. Sewell is Mr. Fordham's guest. If the things you just said get out, how would people view the Fordham family? You wouldn't be able to explain that to Mrs. Fordham either!"
Tanya glared at him. "Don't try to pressure me. I'm going to see her exactly like this. Mr. Fordham is about to marry Ms. Tarrant, yet that little actress Ottilie still has the nerve to cling to him. If someone so shameless enters the Fordham family, it'll be a disaster."
Soren continued trying to reason with her. "Tanya, you said it yourself earlier—we're just employees. It's not our place to interfere in the boss's personal affairs."
"I don't care about anyone else, but I watched those three boys grow up. I have every right to intervene."
Soren's smile shifted, losing whatever shred of sincerity it had. "Does your face hurt?"
Tanya completely froze.
Back at the Meridian Villa.
Yorath threw out every single dish Tanya had prepared, bagging it all up and tossing it in the trash.
Then he rolled up his sleeves, tied on an apron, and started cooking.
Ottilie stood by, washing and chopping vegetables to help.
"Yorath, I'm perfectly healthy. And I'm clean."
He didn't say a word.
Ottilie kept pushing. "You're going to marry Ms. Tarrant soon. Marriage requires loyalty. We should end this early and cut off all contact."
Yorath's stirring paused for a fraction of a second before he resumed cooking as if he hadn't heard a thing.
At nine-thirty that night.
Yorath sat in the living room watching the news.
He liked keeping up with business networks and financial channels.
He enjoyed slow, artistic indie films.
Ottilie, on the other hand, loved entertainment gossip, heavy-hitting thrillers, and romance novels.
They had absolutely no common interests.
No shared topics of conversation.
Their entire relationship had basically been confined to the bedroom.
Yorath could go for days and nights without ever tiring.
He had endless stamina and played wild.
