Seven o'clock in the evening.
Yorath's assistant arrived in a sleek car to pick her up.
Soren glanced at her from the driver's seat. "Mr. Fordham originally wanted to pick you up himself, but something urgent came up, so he asked me to come instead."
Ottilie sat in the back, entirely unfazed. It was Nyssa's big movie premiere. There was absolutely no way Yorath would leave Nyssa's side to pick her up! Jevon, Elian, and that entire inner circle were definitely hovering around Nyssa right now, waiting on her hand and foot, treating her like absolute royalty.
Soren continued, "The Meridian Villa was fully renovated three years ago but has sat empty ever since. Now that you're making your comeback in the entertainment industry, staying at your parents' house isn't ideal. Once the event is over tonight, I'll drive you straight to the villa."
Her gaze finally settled on Soren, her tone perfectly polite. "Let's see if I even survive tonight before we talk about a comeback."
This was exactly why professional assistants were the best. Even though he knew she was nothing more than a plaything—and a washed-up one at that—he treated her with absolute respect.
"You don't need to worry about that. Mr. Fordham said you can make a comeback, which means you will."
Yorath's promises were never empty. She knew that perfectly well.
But that was only true as long as Nyssa wasn't involved. The moment his beloved was brought into the equation, every single promise evaporated into thin air. Even if it was signed in blood.
All four entrances to the movie theater were completely blocked by a sea of screaming fans.
Dressed casually, Ottilie slipped in unnoticed, following Soren closely.
The theater lights were already dimmed, and the massive room was packed. The actors were seated in the very first row, while the second row was entirely occupied by the wealthy heirs who had come to support Nyssa.
Yorath and Jevon were sitting right in the middle of them.
Soren originally intended to escort her to the cast seating, but halfway down the aisle, he realized the front row was completely full. The second row was packed as well.
Seeing the situation, Ottilie smiled understandingly. "I'll just sit here."
She pointed to an empty seat in the very back.
Soren leaned in and lowered his voice. "The event coordinators must have messed up the seating chart. I'll make sure they give you a proper explanation later."
"Mm," she replied, completely unbothered.
They both knew exactly what was happening, yet he still insisted on saying the polite, diplomatic thing. It really was tough being his assistant.
