Sebastian walked to the bathroom door and knocked. "I'll leave your clothes on the rack."
Helena didn't answer; there was only the sound of running water.
He simply glanced at the door, confirmed she was in the shower, and set the clothes down.
Then, he headed to the adjacent bathroom to wash up.
It wasn't until Sebastian left that Helena's tense nerves finally began to relax.
The warm water cascaded over her body.
It washed away every last trace of their heated encounter.
She didn't linger in the bathroom for long.
After drying off and getting dressed, she stepped out.
Sebastian was waiting for her outside.
Seeing her emerge, he casually handed her a thermometer.
"Take your temperature. Mercury ones are more accurate," he said flatly.
"Sebastian, do you really think it'll be accurate right after a hot shower?" she asked, her face completely deadpan.
He actually agreed. "Then wait a bit."
But as soon as the words left his mouth, he pressed the back of his hand against her forehead.
Her temperature felt normal.
She swatted his hand away, too exhausted to deal with him.
She still felt a bit lightheaded.
She simply plopped down on the sofa and scrolled through some variety shows on her phone.
Suddenly, Sebastian's phone buzzed.
It was resting on the coffee table beside her, right in her line of sight.
The caller ID read Janetta Ramirez.
Helena didn't even need to guess why she was calling.
The Scandal Headline must have just hit the trending lists.
She knew Janetta was a deeply paranoid woman.
Even the slightest hint of suspicion would send her into an endless spiral.
She would never let it go.
In the past, Sebastian had always possessed endless patience for Janetta.
That was why she always got her way.
But now—
She was probing for information, too terrified to demand the truth outright.
Helena listened in, mocking laughter echoing in her mind.
She used to be the one cautiously testing the waters with him.
Now, the roles were completely reversed.
It would be a lie to say it wasn't satisfying.
But trapped in this twisted web, she realized something.
She wasn't actually enjoying this as much as she thought she would.
It felt as though she was just dragging herself further into the mud.
Janetta kept talking on the other end, but Sebastian offered zero response.
Helena didn't ask what was being said.
Still, a profound wave of irritation began to wash over her.
Suddenly, she stood up and walked toward the suite's door.
Sebastian noticed and quickly matched her stride.
Just as she reached the door, he caught her wrist. "Where are you going?"
He asked the question completely unbothered by the fact that he was still on the phone.
