He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 893

Just as she finished the call, the housekeeper knocked on the door to announce dinner.

Helena acknowledged her and headed to the dining room.

Ivy was already waiting, smiling warmly as she waved her over. "Come, sit here."

Helena took her seat.

Over the years, Helena had rarely had the chance to sit face-to-face and just talk with Ivy like this.

In fact, it had taken a very long time for Helena to even feel comfortable calling her 'Mom'.

Between her initial coma and her subsequent psychological instability, the Everett family had shown her an incredible amount of grace and patience.

Helena harbored a deep sense of guilt toward them because of it.

She focused on keeping the conversation light and pleasant as they ate.

Ivy had already planned out a cozy itinerary for her.

Temple visits, shopping trips, leisurely walks in the park.

Helena knew Ivy was doing it on purpose to keep her occupied so she wouldn't spiral into dark thoughts.

She was terrified Helena would relapse.

Understanding her mother's silent anxiety, Helena happily agreed to all the plans.

Suddenly, Ivy paused and looked at her intently.

"Mom, what's wrong?" Helena asked softly.

"Your grandfather mentioned you visited Northgate University recently. Is that right?" Ivy asked.

"Yes," Helena nodded, not trying to hide it.

"He wants to arrange for you to work there as a Teaching Assistant. Your academic background and credentials are more than enough. Having a structured job will keep you grounded and focused. Plus, being on a lively campus is good for the soul," Ivy smiled, clearly in agreement with Alistair's idea.

"I know that's what Grandfather wants, which is why I met with the university administration and the department head. It was just a preliminary discussion," Helena replied humbly.
