He Gave Me Hearing, Then Taught Me What Silence Really Means novel Chapter 57

Yara practically cleaned her ears out. "Wait, spell that."

Juniper instinctively reached for the business card, only to remember a certain psycho had shredded it into confetti.

Yara was already typing furiously on her phone. She shoved the screen into Juniper's face. "Don't tell me it's this guy."

The pristine hospital headshot was unmistakably Alistair.

Juniper nodded quickly. "Yeah. That's him."

Yara sucked in a sharp breath, gripping Juniper's hands with aggressive sincerity. "Bestie, whoever set you up is a godsend. That man is top-tier elite. I don't even need to ask around. I fully approve of this union."

Juniper blinked in surprise. Yara almost never handed out compliments to men.

Yara poured herself a glass of water, taking a massive gulp. "Honestly though, he looks exactly like Cillian. I realized it the second he gave a lecture at my hospital. Only difference is Cillian had a tiny mole on his nose. Speaking of which, doesn't Nelson the bastard have one too?"

Juniper had zero desire to talk about Nelson. She turned on the sink and aggressively scrubbed her hands. "No idea. Forgot."

*Sure you did,* Yara thought.

Knowing Juniper hated bringing him up, Yara just grinned. "Dr. Vaughn is a rockstar. He's won a ton of awards, loaded with cash, and the best part? Both his parents are dead. Zero in-law drama. Plus, clinical stress kills them young. Once he kicks the bucket, you get everything. Just grind for a few years and you're a rich widow. I'm rooting for you, babe."

Juniper's lips twitched. She started prepping breakfast. "Gee, thanks."

Meanwhile, late last night, Nelson had returned to the Saint estate, only to find Lydia still waiting up for him.

Lydia immediately spotted the glaring handprint on his face. He had only stopped by tonight so they could take Josie to the academy together in the morning.

Josie covered her tiny mouth, her eyes welling with tears. "Daddy, who hit you this time?"

He toed off his shoes in the foyer, his tone completely flat. "I did."
