Chapter 493
The color drained from Lily’s face.
Dominic watched her with interest, his hand moving from her cheek to her soft lower lip.
“Let me guess what he said to you on the phone.”
The more hatred filled Lily’s eyes, the deeper Dominic’s smile became.
“Did he say he would never leave you, even if it killed him? That he would call the police? That he would find a way to take you far away from here?”
As his words fell, the color faded from Lily’s lips.
She didn’t say a word, but her expression said enough.
Dominic chuckled.
“Looks like I got it all right.”
His thumb pressed against her lower lip.
But her soft lips were pressed tightly together. Her teeth dug into the inside of her lip, turning the spot pale. If this went on, there was no doubt she would bite herself until she bled.
Dominic sighed.
Then, all at once, he let go of her chin, lowered his head, and kissed her hard,
“Mm!”
Lily hadn’t expected him to do something like this here. Her body froze for a second before she began struggling violently.
Although it was already late, there were still plenty of people working inside the research institute. The hallway was empty for the moment because everyone was in the labs analyzing important data, but that didn’t mean someone would not walk by at any second.
Everyone at the institute knew Lily as the eldest daughter of the Lynch family and Dominic’s sister. The Lynch family had protected her carefully since she was young. Even in high society, the few people who knew she had been adopted would never dare spread it around. Almost no one outside the family knew she and Dominic were not related by blood.
How many years had this been going on?
How many years had Dominic been dragging her down like this?
Again and again, he had forced her into dark corners and pulled her deeper into the mud with him.
Shame and anger surged through her. The moment Dominic deepened the kiss, Lily bit down hard on his tongue.
“Hiss!”
Dominic pulled back in pain.
The next second, a sharp slap landed hard across his face.
“Are you an animal?”

Lily was trembling all over, like a cornered animal with every defense raised. A smear of red stained her lips. It was blood from Dominic’s tongue.
Dominic’s face had turned slightly from the force of the slap. He pressed his tongue against the inside of his cheek and stared at her, his gaze sharp and dangerous.
“What is that bastard worth holding on to?”
His words cut into Lily’s heart like knives.
“You still don’t know, do you? Before he left Liono City, he asked me for two million dollars. That was all you were worth to him. Two million. Did you know you meant that little to him?”
“Shut up!”
Lily’s voice was cold and sharp.
“You were the one who humiliated him with money and forced him out of Liono City. Dominic, you are despicable.”
Dominic let out a low laugh.
He wiped the corner of his mouth with his thumb, then lowered his eyes to the blood there. It was the same blood staining Lily’s lips.
“Didn’t you already know that?”
His arm around her waist suddenly tightened. With his other hand, he gripped the back of her head and kissed her again.
