Game Over, Mr. CEO: Your Wife Is Done (Winter and Chris) novel Chapter 328

Otherwise, how could a guy as tough as Roy have gotten hurt?

But the second the words left his mouth, Zion could have sworn he saw the corner of Gavin’s lips twitch.

He froze in shock.

No way. The lighting had to be messing with him. He had definitely seen it wrong.

There was no way this big, deadpan guy actually knew how to smile.

Gavin stopped in front of him. He was a little taller, his whole presence cold and intimidating.

Up ahead, a car sped off down the road. Through the windshield, Zion caught sight of Skyla’s bodyguard inside. There was no question Skyla was in that car too. He was just about to go after them when Gavin suddenly spoke.

“Zion.”

Zion paused for a second. So this dead–faced giant actually knew his name.

“Move.” Zion was furious. “Chris took Ms. Scott, and now you’re still trying to protect Skyla? I’m telling you, that’s not happening.”

Compared to Zion’s anger, Gavin was much calmer. His tone gave little away as he said, “Skyla still has a use.”

A matching donor still hadn’t been found for Richie, which meant Skyla remained the backup option.

Chris was waiting.

Zion’s backup didn’t make it to the hospital in time. By the time the Zeller family’s men chased after Skyla, Victor’s people had already arrived.

The two sides clashed, and in the chaos, no one noticed the Xander family’s security team appear near the hospital’s side entrance.

Sitting in the car, Skyla said to her bodyguard, “Take me to Westbury.”

Ms. Jasper, Westbury is too exposed. It isn’t safe,” the bodyguard said.

But there was a stubborn, almost obsessive look in her eyes. “Take me to Westbury.”

She lowered her gaze to the ruby bracelet on her wrist.

Before Chris carried Winter onto the helicopter, she heard him call her Winnie.

Her head buzzed instantly, and she snapped back on reflex, “Winnie my ass-

She didn’t even get the last word out before he covered her mouth and lifted her into the helicopter.

The cabin door shut, and the helicopter took off at once.

It rose into the night sky and swept over the city, while Chris held her in his arms near the cabin door, the whole city spread out below them in glittering lights.

But she had no mood to appreciate a view like that.

Chris wrapped a blanket around her, pulled her against his chest, and said, “Get some sleep. I’ll wake you when we get there.”

Before she could answer, his voice dropped in warning.

“And if you swear at me again, I’ll shut you up myself.”
