Game Over, Mr. CEO: Your Wife Is Done (Winter and Chris) novel Chapter 204

Chapter 204

Chris’s breathing grew heavier. He rolled, pinning her into the corner by the wall, lifted her chin, and forced his way back into the kiss, tangling with her tongue.

He kissed her like he wanted to devour her whole.

Winter was kissed so breathless she couldn’t think anymore. Her mind went blank, and all she could do was let Chris take whatever he wanted.

The hem of the sweatshirt she had tucked into the waistband came loose.

“Ah…” Winter trembled from the pain.

Chris’s hand stopped. Looking at her tightly drawn face, he realized he had probably hurt her the night before by showing no restraint at all.

He held the back of her neck and kissed her a little longer before finally letting go of her lips, now flushed red and swollen.

His palm cupped the back of her head and pressed her face against his chest. His heartbeat was steady and strong,

but faster than usual.

He pulled the military coat back up over her.

Neither of them spoke. Other than the wind howling outside, the only sounds were their breathing.

After a long while, Chris finally spoke.

“Go to sleep.” His low voice was especially hoarse.

How could Winter possibly sleep in his arms? Especially now, when that photo from ten years ago kept flashing through her mind. A nameless anger was running wild inside her.

Chris stretched one leg out and kept the other bent. He lowered his head and looked at Winter in his arms, her lashes still fluttering, then leaned his head back against the wall.

“If you’re not sleepy, we can do something else until you are.”

Of course she was sleepy.

She wasn’t like Chris, one of those people with endless energy. He had taken from her again and again all night. Her eyelids were already drooping. If she hadn’t woken up from hunger earlier, she never would have woken at all.

Before long, Chris heard the faint, even sound of her breathing from his arms, and the corner of his mouth lifted slightly.

Leaning against the wall, he closed his eyes too.

No matter how fiercely the wind howled outside, Winter slept soundly the whole time in his arms.

Winter was woken by the roar of helicopter blades.

When she opened her eyes, sunlight was falling across her body. She felt warm, and it wasn’t just the sun.

She was sleeping in Chris’s arms.

A prickling itch brushed across Winter’s nose, lips, and chin.

Chris was deliberately rubbing the stubble on his jaw against her face.

She shrank her neck back, squirming from the ticklish sensation, but Chris held the back of her neck and would not let her hide.

“Chris, I’m getting mad!”

Her hands had just started pushing at his chest when he suddenly let her go and looked at her with dark, unreadable eyes.

The moment Winter met that gaze, a wave of bitterness rose in her chest.

She lowered her eyes.

What was she doing just now?

Her face went blank as she shifted, and the hands that had been holding her waist and neck loosened and fell away.

A signal crackled through the comms earpiece hanging around Chris’s neck.

It was the sound that split reality from illusion.
