Fluffy Mates Chase Their Boss on Survival Show novel Chapter 16

Chapter 16 Making Furniture

Before Liam’s Vanguard shut down, viewers only heard that one sentence.

Countless trending topics flooded the internet, and Fiona looked at Layla as if she were seeing a miracle.

In just two days, Layla’s popularity had eclipsed Stella’s, significantly boosting her reputation.

She had a feeling that inviting Layla had been the right call. She just wasn’t sure if the Grant family would come after her when their perfect contrast started to shift.

Whatever. It was worth it for the ratings.

She went to bed overjoyed.

Stella, on the other hand, tossed and turned, unable to rest. As long as she was awake, her Vanguard stayed on.

[Stella, what’s wrong? Are you feeling sick?]

[She’s probably just upset. Poor Stella. She’s clearly Prof. Slater’s rightful fiancée, yet that toxic waste stole him.]

[Make Prof. Slater regret it! Make him suffer!]

[What are you talking about? Layla has been seducing Prof. Slater the whole time. Did you not see her handing him food? She held that bowl so tight that he’d have to touch her fingers. It was so pathetic! How could any female beastman act this desperate and shameless? I’m ashamed of her!]

Stella lay on the stone bed, replaying in her head all the comments about Shane and Layla.

The comments were practically a live broadcast. Unable to sleep, she sat up, looked at the screen, and forced a weak smile.

In the dim light, her smile looked pale and haggard.

She said, “Everyone, please don’t say that. Layla is the true heiress of the Grant family. Prof. Slater was always meant to be her mate. I’ve already decided to give all of them back to her.”

[Stella, you’re too kind. You shouldn’t show mercy to someone like her.]

[Relationships aren’t objects. You can’t give them back. Wolf Boss and Prince Oliver want to stay with you. If you insist on sending them away, they’ll be heartbroken.]

Seeing the comforting comments, Stella’s eyes welled up just enough, then she forced a smile, looking strong yet vulnerable. “I understand, but I owe Layla, having taken over her life. And I should give them all back to her.”

[Don’t cry, Stella. Guess who’s here?]

[Yeah, a male guest is coming over. Guess who it is!]

[What’s meant for Stella is hers. No toxic waste can take it away.]

Stella’s interest piqued. “Coming over this late? I should go out and check on him. What if he runs into danger?”

[Stella, you’re so kind. You’re a delicate female, yet you care for others.]

Layla had to admit that Shane was a good partner.

This professor is really all about his stomach.

She said, “I’ll gather some hay and make one when I get back.”

“And…” Shane hesitated, knowing his next request was a lot to ask, but, for his quality of life, he continued, “Can you cut down a tree?”

Layla stared. Are you crazy?

He added, “I want to make a table and chairs.”

“Can you make them?” Layla asked.

“I can,” Shane said.

Layla recognized he was more than capable. A simple furniture set would be a breeze for him. “Alright.”

Satisfied, Shane handed Layla a roasted potato, and their fingertips brushed again.

Having just washed her face, her fingers felt cool to him.

He frowned at the chill.

However, he didn’t know how to make clothes. Before the show, they’d only been allowed to bring one change of clothes.
