Better Late, But Never His Again novel Chapter 143

Hitting send, she gripped her phone tightly, a vicious smirk returning to her lips.

Julian had just stepped out of his office when he received the text.

Reading the message, his gaze sharpened and a deep crease formed between his brows.

Marcus had helped Hazel find her letter?

Why would a ruthless executive like Marcus Thornton go out of his way for her? And why would Hazel share something so incredibly personal with him in the first place?

When did their relationship become this intimate?

He tugged at his tie, but the suffocating restriction around his neck didn't ease. A restless frustration burned in his chest.

He was just about to call Hazel to remind her to watch her boundaries as a married woman.

But then, his office door swung open.

His assistant stood there, looking utterly panicked. His face was ghostly pale, as if he had just witnessed something horrifying.

He was clutching his phone, his fingers noticeably trembling.

Julian looked up from his screen, frowning. "What is it? Why do you look like that?"

The assistant swallowed hard, his Adam's apple bobbing. When he spoke, his voice was painfully dry, genuinely terrified.

"Mr. Hayes, they found Sean Sutton."

Julian shot up from his chair. It rolled backward, slamming into the wall with a heavy thud. He slammed his hands onto the desk, his voice rising sharply. "Call the police! Have him arrested immediately!"

Saying that name brought back all his suppressed fury. He clearly remembered what happened last time—Sutton had actually dared to kidnap Hazel. He had dared to touch what belonged to him.

He had ordered his men to hunt him down for days, and now they had finally found him. The effort hadn't been wasted.

Yet the assistant remained frozen to the spot, his lips quivering as if his feet were glued to the floor.
