Natasha froze for a moment.

She blinked, puzzled. “Help? How exactly?”

Jared’s tall body pressed down against her. “Sleep with you.”

His lips leaned in close to her ear, his words slow and deliberate.

Natasha’s eyes widened in shock.

She couldn’t believe Jared had actually said that out loud.

It took her a moment to find her voice. “Mr. Rundell, are you joking?”

By calling him “Mr. Rundell,” Natasha was making it clear she wanted to keep things professional, drawing a line between them.

Jared’s eyes went dark and stormy as he stared at her. “I’m not joking.”

His large hand slipped inside her robe, caressing her fair and delicate skin.

He said, “Having trouble sleeping? Let me take care of that for you.”

For a moment, Natasha’s mind blanked out.

She stared, eyes wide with shock.

“Mr. Rundell, you…” Before she could finish, he tilted her chin up and claimed her lips in a kiss.

Jared’s kiss was intense, almost hungry.

He barely lingered on her lips before parting them, his tongue seeking hers, tangling deeply in a heated exchange. Natasha’s breathing grew rapid, coming in short, quick bursts.

She didn’t push him away when he kissed her.

Honestly, she wanted more, maybe even a little addicted to it.

After all, she was a woman with desires.

But ever since she married Percy, she never got what she needed.

Even if it wasn’t for her hysteria, sometimes her whole body would ache with longing.

Plus, Jared was seriously tall and hot.

If she ignored the fact that he was her boss, just judging by his looks and build, he was a total catch.

Sleeping with him was definitely a good deal for her.

But the catch was that he was her boss.

As soon as Jared let go of her lips and started kissing and nipping at her neck, Natasha quickly spoke up.

Jared paused, his movements halting for a moment.

He lifted his head, his gaze dark and intense as he locked eyes with her. “Why not? Don’t forget, you paid to sleep with me before, wanted to make me your escort, remember?

“Now I’m giving in and offering myself for free, and you still don’t want it?”

Natasha felt a flicker of temptation at Jared’s words.

She remembered how she’d been drugged before, begging him to take her, and even sent him a 30 grand dollars.

That much money might be nothing to him, but for her, it was a big deal.

She couldn’t just let that money go to waste.

At the very least, she should actually sleep with him. Otherwise, she’d totally be losing out.

Natasha thought, ‘But…’

She furrowed her brows, thinking it over. “You didn’t just have me move in so you could sleep with me, did you?”

She suddenly felt like she’d been tricked.

Natasha wondered, ‘So was all that talk about tracking down the mastermind behind the BC Project leak and protecting my safety just a cover?

‘Was getting me into bed what he really wanted all along?’

Jared just arched an eyebrow, not even trying to deny it.

He said, “I won’t lie, I’m absolutely craving you. So yeah, that’s part of it.”

“You!” Natasha was flustered and pissed, her eyes popping wide.

“Don’t tell me you don’t want it, too.” Jared’s eyes narrowed, locking onto her. “You and Percy are about to split, so I bet you haven’t gotten any in ages, right?”

‘If you weren’t so deprived, your condition wouldn’t keep flaring up, Jared thought.

Natasha was startled. “How did you know Percy and I are getting divorced?”

Jared’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “So you and Percy really are getting divorced?”

He’d only been testing the waters with that question.

He hadn’t expected her to turn it back on him.

‘So it’s true, Jared thought.

Natasha looked away, refusing to meet his eyes, instinctively dodging the question.

She said, “That’s my personal business!”

‘It has nothing to do with him, Natasha thought.

Jared tightened his grip around her waist, pulling her flush against him.

He drew her in so close, there wasn’t a hint of space left between them.

“Seriously, aren’t I both your boss and your man? Why are you still trying to keep things so separate with me?”

His gaze was full of understanding, as if he could read her like a book.

His lips hovered just above hers, ready to steal another kiss.

Natasha hurriedly pressed her hands against his chest as he leaned in, trying to push him away.

She said, “Please. I don’t want to…”

Jared’s face went rigid, tension tightening his features.

“Is it that you don’t want this at all, or is it just that you don’t want it with me?”

His dark eyes locked onto hers, his voice husky and rumbling from deep within his chest.

Jared thought, ‘Her body was practically begging for it.

‘She’s about to get divorced, so why does she keep turning me down again and again?’

He fixed his dark, searching gaze on her. “Is that really how you feel? Are you being honest with me?”

Natasha lowered her gaze, unable to meet his eyes.

She knew that even if she divorced Percy, it would never happen between her and Jared.

If he weren’t her boss, just some regular guy, maybe they’d actually have a shot.

But they were just from two different worlds.

Natasha didn’t want to finally get divorced, only to end up as some other man’s plaything.

“Yes,” Natasha replied, her voice steady.

She looked up at him and nodded, her resolve clear in her eyes.

Jared pressed his lips into a thin line, his jaw tightening.

His deep, dark eyes bore into hers, like he could see right through her.

It was as if he was peering into the deepest part of her soul.

After what felt like ages, Jared finally pulled away from Natasha.

He turned and left her bedroom, not sparing her a single glance.

Natasha clutched the blanket tightly, her knuckles turning white.

She lifted the back of her hand and wiped at her mouth, almost harshly.

As if by doing so, she could erase every trace of him.

Jared raced over to Sky One Club and kicked open the VIP suite door without a second thought.

Inside, Nicolas and the others jumped in surprise.

*Jared, what’s gotten into you? Are you on edge tonight or did someone seriously piss you off?” asked, stepping up to him, genuinely concerned.

Jared ignored him, headed straight for the couch, grabbed a bottle of liquor, and downed half of it in one go.

Watching Jared chugging down liquor like a madman, Nicolas could tell right away that something major had happened.

“I heard your company had a big strategy document leak. Is Harley stirring up trouble again?” Nicolas guessed, unable to hold back.

Jared polished off most of the bottle in one go.

Then he looked up at Nicolas and said, “Start acquiring some of Harley’s companies overseas for me…”

Nicolas immediately got it. “So you’re planning to take down Harley’s overseas assets?”

Jared clenched his jaw. “He started it.”

Now that Harley was messing with people close to him, Jared had to send a clear warning.
