Jared seized her chin. “Does that mean you’re agreeing?”

Natasha felt unbearably uncomfortable, like a million ants were biting her from the inside out.

She couldn’t say no, even if she wanted to.

Just to sleep with him for one night would cost her 300 thousand bucks, and she really didn’t have that kind of money

“Can I pay in installments?” she forced herself to ask, her body still trembling as she tried to negotiate.

Jared shot her a deep, piercing look. “At least pay a down payment of 30 grand first!”

Natasha was honestly speechless.

She thought, ‘A down payment? What is this, buying a house?

‘I’m just paying for one night with him, not buying the whole man.

‘This guy is totally milking me for all I’m worth.’

He was squeezing every bit of her hard-earned assistant money.

“Deal!” Natasha said, gritting her teeth and throwing caution to the wind.

A glimmer of desire burned deep in Jared’s eyes.

With a swift motion, he pushed her down onto the bed.

Jared knelt at the edge, his body leaning over hers, his face inches from her flushed, longing expression.

Their breaths intertwined, heavy with heat and anticipation.

Natasha wrapped her arms around Jared’s neck, pulling him closer, eager to taste his lips.

But Jared grabbed her wrist, stopping her. “Pay up first!”

Natasha was completely thrown off for a couple of seconds.

She almost blew a fuse.

Natasha thought, ‘Seriously? Is he still hung up on money at a time like this?

‘It’s not like he needs the money, anyway.’

“Can’t we just get it over with first and settle the money after?” Natasha’s eyes were red, barely holding back her frustration.

Jared locked his gaze on her. “What if you bail on me once it’s done?”

Natasha was speechless.

Before she could even process it, he’d already snatched her phone, opened the payment app, and punched in the amount for 30 grand.

Now all that was left was for her to enter her password.

Natasha was past the point of no return, there was no backing out now.

She didn’t bother thinking it over. She just keyed in her password and transferred the 100,000 dollars to him.

She figured that now she’d paid, she’d finally get her shot at him.

But just as she thought she was finally going to get what she paid for, there was a knock at the door.

Jared’s eyes slowly cleared, the haze of desire fading away.

He let go of her, got off the bed, pulled the blanket over her, and walked out of the suite to open the door.

Jared’s voice was low and resigned. “If you’d been any later, I would’ve had to auction myself off.”

Sharon gave her brother a glare. “That’s a rare sight! Who could possibly force you to sell yourself?”

She came running as soon as she got his call.

Right now, she was dying to know what kind of woman would make Jared personally call her over after being drugged

Jared quickly led Sharon into the room where Natasha was.

Sharon went straight over to check on Natasha.

By now, the drug was really messing Natasha up, she was completely out of it, barely even aware of what was happening

Sharon quickly pulled out a syringe she’d brought along and gave Natasha a shot.

“Not sure what they gave her, but it must’ve been a strong dose. The antidote won’t kick in right away. She’ll probably be knocked out until tomorrow morning,” Sharon explained.

After she finished explaining, Sharon packed up her medical kit.

“Okay,” Jared just nodded.

He sat down on the sofa by the bed.

Sharon could tell from the way he was acting that he was planning to stick around with her.

She couldn’t help but ask curiously, “So, what’s your relationship with her?”

It was rare to see Jared, who never showed much interest in women, actually caring about one.

She thought, ‘But if this woman is his girlfriend, and she has been drugged like this, he should’ve taken care of it himself. Why bother calling,e over?

‘But if he doesn’t have any feelings for this woman, there is no way he would bother getting involved.’

“She’s my assistant,” Jared replied coolly.

Sharon shot him a look, clearly not buying it. “Really? You called me over just for your assistant? And you’re actually planning to stay by her side all night?”

She just couldn’t believe that he was the type to care this much about an employee.

He’d never even shown this much concern for Sharon before.

Jared didn’t bother with any more talk. He just dismissed her. “You can leave now that you’ve given her the shot.”

Sharon was so mad she actually kicked him.

“Bet you’ve got a secret crush on her, huh?” she teased.

Jared pressed his lips together, not denying it.

Sharon couldn’t help but laugh. “Who would’ve thought that my handsome brother is actually playing the secret admirer game?”

Ever since they were kids, women were practically lining up to throw themselves at Jared.

Sharon never thought Jared would actually set his sights on a woman.

And now he was actually crushing on someone in secret.

It totally blew her mind.

But if he didn’t genuinely like her, any guy would’ve just made a move in a situation like this.

“If you don’t leave now, I’ll call Greg tomorrow!” Jared threatened

Just those words made Sharon’s face change in an instant.

“Fine, I’m outta here. But don’t you dare call Greg again, and don’t even mention me!” she snapped.

Furious, she lunged at him, grabbing his collar. “Or I’ll tell your assistant you have a crush on her!”

Sharon looked like she’d just found his weak spot.

She gave him a triumphant smirk, wiggled her brows at him, and strutted out of the room.

Natasha woke up just as dawn was breaking.

The early morning light seeped through the curtains, scattering mottled shadows across the white sheets

She’d been drenched in cold sweat all night, her clothes sticking to her skin.

When she woke up, she felt gross and uncomfortable all over.

Natasha let out an annoyed groan and reached for her phone.

But instead of her phone, her hand brushed against something warm.

Natasha turned her head, confused, and found Jared’s handsome face right next to her.

Her hand was resting on his wrist.

Natasha froze for a few seconds, then jerked her hand back like she’d touched a live wire.

She lay there, dazed for a while before she finally realized what had happened.

‘Last night, I think I got drugged, Natasha recalled, still a bit dazed.

She’d begged Jared to save her, and even wired him 30 thousand dollars.

But in the end, he just ended up calling a doctor to give her a shot.

Natasha glared at him, so frustrated she was about to blow her top.

As if sensing her glare, Jared stirred from his light sleep.

His eyes landed on Natasha, who was already awake in bed. “You’re up?”

Now, every time Natasha looked at him, all she could think about was how she’d shelled out cash to hook up with him last night, and still didn’t even get a taste of him.

She wished the ground would just swallow her up.

“What is it?” Jared finally asked.

He couldn’t help but break the silence when she kept glaring at him without saying a word.

“Why didn’t you tell me you called a doctor?” Natasha asked, turning her face away in frustration.

She was so embarrassed she wished she could disappear.

Jared drawled with a lazy smirk, “Well, you never asked.”

Natasha’s face went rigid, embarrassment flashing across her features. “But…”

Jared arched a brow. “Feeling let down you didn’t get your money’s worth with me?”
