Chapter 394
Smack! Percy’s eyes flashed red with fury. Without warning, he raised his hand and delivered a vicious slap across her face.
Joelle was knocked to the ground by Percy’s slap, pain shooting through her as she hit the floor. She immediately tasted, blood, thick and metallic, pooling in her mouth. That slap was brutal; Percy didn’t hold back at all.
“You… actually slap me?” Joelle stammered. She pressed her burning right cheek, staring at Percy as if he were a monster she had never seen before in disbelief.
She felt like facing a stranger. Not even in her dream did she ever think Percy would hit her. All those sweet promises he used to whisper became jokes now.
Percy showed no sign of remorse; his expression was cold and unforgiving. He just gave her a chilling warning. “You should know, right now, I could end you without a second thought.”
Joelle shivered instinctively. She knew Percy wasn’t exaggerating; he meant every word he said. At this point, he was fully capable of doing it.
Joelle gritted her teeth; she had no choice but to speak up. “I know where she is.”
Percy was momentarily stunned. A flicker of excitement flashed in his eyes. “Where is she?” he pressed, his voice urgent.
“I can tell you!” Joelle said, locking eyes with him, and gathering her courage. “But there’s one condition.”
Percy narrowed his eyes. “What is it?”
Joelle demanded, “Break up with Natasha and marry me.”
This was her only shot now. After Nicolas dumped her, she had been so heartbroken she had even thought about ending it all, convinced she had never get a chance at marrying into a wealthy family.
But her dream since she was a kid had always been to marry into a wealthy family and be a rich man’s wife. She had thought that without Nicolas, at least she still had Percy. But now, just because of a stupid handkerchief, Percy had turned his back on her without a second thought.
‘If I were to tell him the truth, that I’d snatched the handkerchief from Natasha, then that would be the end of everything. No way Percy would ever break up with Natasha and marry me,’ Joelle thought bitterly.
Percy looked at her like she had just told the funniest joke he had ever heard, his eyes full of mockery. “Do you really think you still have the right to bargain with me?”
‘Have you forgotten your place now?’ Percy thought. ‘You’re no longer my lover, but a prisoner. What right does a prisoner have to bargain?’ Percy scoffed inwardly.
Joelle instinctively clenched her fists, speechless. Percy condescendingly looked at her coldly. “It’s fine if you don’t want to tell. When you feel like, I’ll come back.”
With that, he was about to leave. But Joelle, looking like she had nothing to lose, suddenly spoke up. “That girl likes to wear a yellow dress, doesn’t she?”
Percy stopped in his tracks and turned around to look at her. “How do you know that?”
Joelle let out a cold snort. “Don’t bother how I found out. Anyway, I know she loves wearing yellow dresses, and she’s dying.”
She deliberately stressed the word “dying,” not missing the sudden tension and worry that flashed across Percy’s face.
“What did you just say? Who’s dying?” Percy grabbed and pulled her right in front of him, his face twisted with agitation as

he asked.
Joelle stared him down. “I know you’ve changed, and you think I’m no longer good enough for you. But the girl you’ve been searching for, the owner of that handkerchief, she can’t wait much longer for you.”
Percy’s eyes flickered with struggle as he tried to suppress his emotions. “If I break up with her and marry you, will you really tell me where she is?” he asked, his voice tight.
“Of course!” Joelle replied. As long as she inarried Percy, she would surely secure her place as the lady of the Grosso family.
