Chapter 274 He Wanted to Marry Her
Jared’s eyes flashed with hatred.
“You want to avoid being with me that badly?” he asked.
‘Is she really so desperate to keep me out of her heart that she’d even use the excuse of not being divorced yet? he thought.
Natasha clenched her fists.
Sadness washed over her.
She let out a bitter, self-deprecating smile. “Do you honestly think I’d ever end up with you?”
Jared’s eyes darkened, his expression growing serious.
He stared at her and shot back, “Why not? We can be together right now if you agree.”
Natasha couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
“Jared, you’re not a kid anymore. When did you get so hopelessly naive?” she shot back.
She thought, ‘Seriously? He thinks a simple nod from me would make us a couple?
‘Is it really that easy?’
“If you want to stay friends with benefits, that’s easy. But if you’re hoping for anything more between us, that’s never going to happen,” Natasha said.
Natasha stared him down as she spoke.
Honestly, she had considered the possibility of actually being with Jared.
But in the end, she knew it was simply impossible.
“Why not? If you’re willing, nothing can stop me. I’ll fight for you, no matter what,” Jared said, locking eyes with her, his voice full of promise.
Jared held her gaze, unwavering, as he made his heartfelt vow.
Natasha struggled to hold herself together, her heart a mess of turbulent emotions.
She almost broke down and cried.
But she thought, ‘Don’t do anything rash. Stay calm. Don’t let yourself go.’
“I don’t need you!” Natasha snapped.
She shoved him away.
All she wanted now was to be alone and collect herself.
But Jared didn’t give her a chance to calm down.
He pulled her back, turning her to face him again.
He lowered his head, going in for a forceful kiss on her lips.
But Natasha resisted him fiercely.
“You…”
Her protest was smothered by his passionate kiss.
Jared’s kiss was rough and intense this time.
He was like a savage beast, as if he wanted to tear her apart and consume her.
Natasha let out a muffled groan.
She tried to push him away, but she couldn’t.
His kiss was frantic and desperate.
It was like he was pouring all his chaotic, angry emotions into this kiss.
No matter how many times Natasha tried to push him away, she couldn’t break free.
Jared was all raw, unleashed desire, every oun
His breath came in ragged, heavy bursts.

He looked like he was ready to rip her apart.
Natasha’s lips were bruised under his, aching from the pressure.
His masculine scent filled her nose, overwhelming and intoxicating.
He robbed her of breath, leaving her gasping for air.
She could barely breathe, his kiss stealing all the air from her lungs.
Jared clamped his hand on the back of her head, holding her with a fierce, possessive grip.
His kiss grew even wilder, more savage.
Natasha’s legs turned to jelly from his kiss.
She was about to sink right to the floor.
Jared finally let her go.
But before she could even catch her breath, he wrapped his arms around her waist and lifted her up.
“Let me go. Let me go…” Natasha shouted, her protest suddenly muffled as Jared cut her off.
She fought desperately, panic in her voice as she screamed for help.
Jared didn’t care about her resistance, he stormed into the master bedroom with her in his arms and flung her onto the huge bed.
Natasha landed on the bed with a jolt, her body bouncing off the mattress.
She didn’t feel any pain, but her head spun for a brief moment.
It took her a moment to catch her breath and steady herself.
Realizing the danger she was in, Natasha scrambled up, making a dash for the other side of the bed.
But before she could make a move, Jared was already there, dropping to one knee to block her escape.
“What are you doing?” Natasha snapped, glaring at him.
Jared clamped one hand around her slender wrist.
His other arm locked tightly around her waist.
He pinned her beneath him, leaving her completely helpless.
Jared locked his gaze on her, his eyes dark and intense. “What if I told you I wanted to marry you?”
Natasha was caught off guard, completely frozen.
“Wait, what did you say?” she blurted out.
Natasha’s mind was spinning. ‘Did he seriously say he wants to marry me?
‘Is he joking right now?’
“If you don’t believe me, let’s go to City Hall and get married tomorrow!” Jared declared, his voice leaving no room for doubt.
Natasha blinked, her eyes wide with disbelief.
She stared at him, unable to believe what she was hearing.
Right now, there was only one thought running through her mind.
She wondered, ‘Is Jared really saying he wants to go to City Hall and marry me?
‘Is this for real?’
She gave herself a hard pinch on the arm, almost out of reflex.
It hurt.
‘Nope, this isn’t a dream, she told herself.
“I don’t want to marry you.” Natasha blurted out, not even thinking.
She shot back her answer before she could stop herself.
Natasha thought, ‘Who said I wanted to go to City Hall with him?
‘He says he wants to marry me? Please, like I’d ever want to marry him.’
“You!” Jared growled, his eyes flashing with anger.
He glared at her, his look full of resentment.

Chapter 274 He Wanted to Marry Her
He leaned in, his tall frame looming over her, closing the distance between them.
“I want you,” Jared whispered, his voice low and rough.
His lips pressed close to her ear, his tone deep and husky.
Natasha instinctively blurted out, “I don’t want you.”
She’d lied to him about getting divorced.
Jared couldn’t let it go. It was eating at him.
It felt like a wildfire raging in his chest, getting more intense by the second, but there was nowhere for all that heat to go.
He leaned in and caught her delicate earlobe between his teeth.
His hot breath spilled over her, intense and dangerous.
Natasha turned her head, trying to get away, but he stayed pressed against her, refusing to give her space.
His hand trailed down her waist, slipping beneath her skirt.
Natasha started freaking out inside as she realized what Jared was about to do, her mind spinning with panic.
She barely managed to hold back the urge to slap him right across the face.
She took a deep breath, gritted her teeth, and said, “Yeah, I admit it, I lied to you. I hid the fact that Percy and I had already broken up.
“But it’s not like I wanted to. If you hadn’t kept coming at me, always trying to push things further, I wouldn’t have had to use that excuse to keep you at arm’s length…”
It was not like she didn’t want to clear the air with him, she really did, but he never gave her the chance.
He never listened to her when she tried to explain.
He kept pushing her.
She only lied to him because he kept pushing her, leaving her no choice but to do it.
Jared’s hand paused, hesitating for a moment.
His hand lingered on her thigh, but he didn’t go any further.
After hearing her words, his whole body stiffened, his tall frame tense.
The bedroom was dark, with only a sliver of moonlight spilling in from the window, casting faint shadows over them.
Even in the dim light, Natasha could see how tense his face was, every muscle pulled tight.
His eyes, dark as midnight, were locked on her, refusing to look away.
His gaze was a storm of emotions, too tangled for her to read.
“So you admit it? You finally admit you lied to me?” Jared said, his voice low and thick with disappointment.
He gave a sad, defeated smile.
His heart sank, hitting rock bottom.
He never thought she’d actually admit it.
He never expected her to say it right to his face.
That proved it, she really didn’t want to be with him, not even a little.
Jared’s voice was low and tense, barely holding it together.
For no reason he could name, a look of hurt flashed across his handsome face.
“Yes!”
She shut her eyes as she spoke, trying to keep herself from breaking.
Turning her face away, she fought to keep it together, swallowing the pain inside.
She knew it was never going to happen between them.
If it was doomed from the start, then there was no point in even trying.
She’d have to swallow certain things forever, never able to let them out, not even once in her life.
A heavy silence hung between them, stretching on for what felt like forever.
The tension in the air was so thick, it felt like neither of them could breathe.
Natasha pushed hard against his firm chest, her voice strained. “Isn’t that the answer you wanted? Now will you let me go?”
