Natasha didn’t want to go anywhere at the moment.

She just wasn’t in the mood for anything.

She murmured to him, “I want to take three days off.”

Jared saw how totally out of it she looked and didn’t hesitate to nod. “Okay.”

Natasha didn’t bother to explain further. She bit her lip and kept walking.

Jared, worried, started to follow her.

“Just leave me alone!” Natasha suddenly shouted.

After all, it was the leaked photos of her and Jared that had shocked her mom into the hospital.

She couldn’t stand to see him right now.

Jared instinctively frowned, his feet frozen to the spot.

He watched Natasha’s lonely silhouette as she walked away.

However, Jaret couldn’t help but worry about her.

After getting in the car, he told the driver to follow Natasha.

He quietly protected her from a distance.

Natasha was so lost in her own thoughts that she didn’t even notice Jared’s car trailing behind her.

She just kept walking, not caring where she was headed.

Her heart felt heavy, like she was carrying a stone around.

She didn’t even know how long she’d been wandering.

A sudden ring from her phone snapped her out of it.

Natasha paused, grabbed her phone, and answered.

“Hello…” she answered, her voice sounding drained.

“Dad wants you to come home right now,” Collin’s voice came through the phone.

“I know!” Natasha clenched her phone tightly.

After hanging up, she called a cab to take her to Whittier Manor.

Jared had his driver follow the cab the whole way, only telling him to drive after making sure Natasha arrived at the Whittier Manor safely.

As soon as Natasha stepped into the front hall of Whittier Manor, she could feel the tension in the air.

Everyone was there except for her mom, Sandra, who was still in the hospital.

Her dad, Bernard, was sitting at the head of the table, looking pretty grim

On either side of him sat Roxanne and Joelle.

They were all giving her nothing but hostile stares.

Only Bernard, who was sitting next to Joelle, kept signaling her with his eyes, trying to get her attention.

Natasha had no idea what he was trying to say, but then she heard her dad clear his throat loudly.

“Dad, did you call me back for something?”

She turned to look at her father.

Before Bernard could answer, Roxanne sneered, “You’ve got the nerve to ask? Don’t you know deep down what shameless things you’ve done?”

Natasha replied calmly, “I’ve always walked the straight and narrow, just like you taught me, Roxanne. I’ve never done anything shameless.”

That was basically Natasha throwing shade at Roxanne.

If Natasha ever did anything shameless, it was only because Roxanne showed her how.

Roxanne’s expression kept changing. “You!”

She flung a stack of photos onto the floor in a fit of rage.

“You know full well what you’ve done!”

Natasha glanced down at the photos scattered on the ground. They were obviously snapped in secret.

She was front and center in those pictures, every detail clear as day.

And the man next to her was Jared.

The photos were either snapped inside Jared’s car or at the upscale restaurant he’d reserved just for Natasha last time

The shots were all taken from angles that made things look way too intimate.

Some showed them locked in a close embrace, uthers.caught them sharing a passionate kiss.

It was crystal clear from these pictures that Natasha and Jared’s relationship was anything but innocent.

Even if she tried to deny it, nobody would buy it.

But Natasha had never been this clearer-headed.

It was obvious someone was targeting her.

They were using the Whittier family as a weapon against her.

Bernard, exuding authority, demanded in a deep voice, “Explain these photos.”

Natasha clenched her fists.

With the evidence staring her in the face, there was no way she could deny it anymore.

Seeing Natasha silent for so long, Joelle knew she had no excuses.

Joelle seized the moment, her voice dripping with contempt. “Natasha, how could you hook up with other men? If word gets out, people will think the Whittier family has no standards, raising a disgraceful, unfaithful brat like you!”

Roxanne spat, “Like mother, like daughter!”

Her mother, Sandra, spent her whole life sneaking around as the hidden mistress of Roxanne’s husband, never daring to show her face in public.

She believed there was no way a daughter born to a woman like that ever turned out any better.

Cheating and causing scandals like that was honestly no surprise.

Meanwhile, Natasha kept her cool. “All I can say is, I didn’t cheat. Believe whatever you want.”

Joelle scoffed, “The evidence is right in front of you, and you still deny it?”

Natasha shot back coldly, “I didn’t do it, so why should I confess to something I never did?”

By the time she and Jared became friends with benefits, she’d already ended things with Percy.

Being single, Natasha could do whatever she wanted, with whoever she wanted.

None of them had any right to interfere.

Bernard slammed his hand down on the table.

“Butler, bring out the whip. It’s time for the family punishment!”

The butler hesitated. “Mr. Whittier, I…”

Roxanne barked, “What? Are you ignoring my dad’s orders now?”

The butler quickly shook his head, trying to plead, “No, it’s just… I’m worried Miss Natasha won’t be able to endure it.”

The Whittier family’s punishment was the whip.

The whip had been passed down since her grandfather’s time.

They seldom used it.

Unless someone in the family seriously crossed the line, the whip stayed locked away.

Natasha couldn’t remember her dad ever using the whip in years.

And at that moment, just because of a few photos, he was planning to whip his own daughter.

Perhaps he took this measure to save his face with the Grosso family and Percy so Percy wouldn’t dump her in a fit of

anger.

But the truth was, Natasha and Percy had already broken up a while ago.

“Yeah, Dad, can’t we just talk it over? No need for the whip, right?” Collin backed Natasha up.

But Bernard’s expression was icy. “I’m still the head of this family. Natasha has committed a serious mistake, and she must be punished.”

He made it clear that no one could change his mind. The family punishment was definitely happening.

Collin shot Natasha a meaningful look.

He was urging her to plead with their dad, hoping she’d say something to calm him down.

He was hoping she wouldn’t really have to face the punishment.

But Natasha surprised everyone by firing back at her dad, “Dad, what am I being accused of?”

Bernard’s gaze was icy and fierce. “You seriously don’t know what you’ve done? As a Whittier, you went out messing around, and now the evidence is right in front of us. I’m going to make sure you get punished, so you won’t dare do this again!”

Natasha just let out a cold laugh. “You’re really going to call me a cheater just because of a few photos? Isn’t that jumping to conclusions? That guy could easily be Percy for all you know.”

Joelle was the first to jump in. “How could that possibly be him? I can tell just by looking that there’s no way that’s him.”

Natasha turned to Joelle, her look was loaded with meaning. “What, you know my guy better than I do?”

Joelle’s expression froze.

Natasha’s retort left her speechless for a moment.

She let out a mocking laugh. “You know what? I think it’s true. My man spends way more time with you than with me. No wonder you’d recognize him before I would.”

Joelle narrowed her eyes. “What are you implying, Natasha?”

Natasha’s lips curled into a sneer. “I’m just saying, if a few photos are enough to brand me a cheater, then by that logic, you and my man must’ve been having an affair for years!”
