Natasha froze, her whole body stiffening in surprise.

Her pretty face turned bright red with shyness.

“I..I think I’d better head back to the hotel to sleep,” she stammered.

‘What’s the point of my sleeping with him here? Anyway, we’ve already done it, so why bother with this extra step?” Natasha thought.

Jared saw her bashful look, and a surge of heat rushed through him again..

He tugged her down, and they tumbled onto the bed together.

He gently wrapped his arms around her tense body from behind. “You’re already mine, so why are you still acting so shy about sharing a bed?”

Natasha listened to his straightforward words, and her entire face suddenly burned with a flush.

She shot back instinctively, “What do you mean I’m yours? I’m my own person!”

Jared let out a low chuckle. “After all we’ve done, you’re still not my woman?”

Natasha’s face went a bit rigid.

For some things, as long as they remained vague, she could keep pretending.

But once it was out in the open, there was no way to keep up the act anymore!

Natasha fell silent.

Even though she kept telling herself she belonged only to herself, the truth was, she and Jared were already so entangled that there was no separating them now.

It was just that she couldn’t bring herself to admit it.

“I really need to head back to the hotel,” Natasha insisted.

‘If Dorothy comes back tomorrow and sees I’m not in the hotel room, she’ll definitely start asking questions,’ Natasha thought. ‘Besides, I didn’t want to share a bed with Jared again.

‘Having sex with him was just about satisfying our physical needs and keeping my illness in check.

‘But actually sharing a bed with him is playing with fire. What if I start falling for him?”

Natasha knew deep down that she and Jared were never meant to be.

‘Why risk giving us a chance, just to end up with a mess and heartbreak down the road?’ she thought.

Jared fixed his gaze on her. “Are you sure you can even make it back in this state?”

Natasha fell silent.

They’d already gone at it three times, and each round was intense.

Even after eating, her whole body still ached, and she felt completely drained.

There was no way she could make it back on her own.

But if she got in his luxury ride, she would inevitably recall the scenes they had shared in the car before.

That’d only make things even more awkward.

After thinking it over, Natasha realized it was just impossible for her to make it back to the hotel right now.

‘I’ll just sleep here at his place tonight and get up early tomorrow. That way, other colleagues probably won’t notice that I spent the night with Jared, she thought.

Once she made up her mind, Natasha turned her back to him, ignoring him completely.

She wanted to close her eyes and drift off to sleep.

But even after all that action earlier left her body worn out, sleep just wouldn’t come.

She never thought she’d ever be lying here next to her boss like this.

All their messy history and lingering passion kept spreading through her thoughts like wild vines.

She lay there in silence, but her mind was a mess, waves of emotion crashing over her, refusing to settle.

It wasn’t until she heard Jared’s steady, even breathing behind her that she finally felt a bit relieved.

Natasha instinctively turned her head to look.

Sure enough, Jared had his eyes closed, fast asleep.

His handsome face looked so peaceful and harmless in that moment.

Natasha finally closed her eyes in relief.

She didn’t know how long it took, but before she realized it, sleep had quietly claimed her.

Jared waited until he was sure she was asleep before opening his eyes again.

What greeted him was her delicate, flawless face.

Natasha’s eyes were closed, her lashes long and thick, making her look just like a porcelain doll.

Jared felt a sudden flutter in his chest.

He leaned in, pressed a gentle kiss to her red lips, and gently gathered her into his embrace.

Watching the woman curled up in his arms, sleeping peacefully, a gentle warmth softened his usually sharp features.

Natasha ended up sleeping way longer than usual.

When she finally woke up, it was almost noon.

She opened her eyes and stared up at the unfamiliar ceiling, her pretty face showing a hint of confusion.

‘Where am I?’ Natasha wondered, feeling lost.

It took her a few seconds to realize she’d crashed at Jared’s villa in the resort last night.

‘Jared?’ The moment she remembered him, Natasha shot wide awake.

She remembered spending the whole night in bed with Jared.

‘Where did he go?’ she wondered.

Natasha scanned the room, but he was nowhere to be seen.

‘Could it be that he has already returned to the hotel first? Well, that’s actually a relief. At least I won’t have to deal with any awkwardness if we run into each other again, she thought.

Natasha quickly freshened up and hurried downstairs.

When she was ready to head out, she realized the villa’s front door needed a passcode.

She didn’t know the code, so she was totally stuck.

She checked the time. It was already noon.

‘Crap, Dorothy and the rest of the team must have already come back from their hike,’ Natasha thought.

She wondered if she should give Jared a call when she spotted his tall silhouette showing up on the stairs.

“Awake already? Are you hungry?” he asked, his intense gaze fixed on her, making it impossible for her to look away. Natasha hurriedly said, “I’m not hungry. I need to get back to the hotel. Could you unlock the door for me?”

“Come and eat something first,” Jared ordered, not giving her any chance to refuse.

After saying that, he walked down the stairs and made his way straight to the dining room.

Natasha rushed over and cut him off.

“It’s already noon, I really have to get back! I don’t have time to eat here,” Natasha said, her voice urgent.

Jared shot her a meaningful glance. “The others have already gone back.”

Natasha was stunned. “Wait, what?”

Jared arched an eyebrow. “They came back at eight this morning, and the bus left at eleven.”

Natasha couldn’t help but grimace.

‘So I overslept and missed the bus back with everyone else?’ she thought, mortified and dumbfounded.

“So what am I supposed to do now?” Natasha blurted out.

‘No way they’re just gonna leave me stranded here in this resort, right?’ she thought, feeling a bit desperate.

Jared said in his usual laid-back tone, “Once you’ve eaten, we’ll head back together. Or, if you want to stay a few more days,

we can spend some extra time here together… and maybe have some more fun while we’re at it…”

Natasha shot him a glare, her eyes flashing with both embarrassment and irritation.

‘More fun? Seriously? I can’t believe he actually said that out loud!’ she grumbled to herself.

If she hadn’t had that episode yesterday, there was no way she would’ve thrown herself at him in the car.

Now that she was back to normal, there was no way she’d want to do that with him again.

“Absolutely not!” Natasha shut him down instantly, no hesitation at all.

Jared saw the annoyed look on Natasha’s face and couldn’t help but feel both amused and a little teasingly annoyed. Alright, then let’s get some food first.”

With that, he wrapped his arm around her and pulled her close as they headed toward the dining room.

Natasha ended up riding back in Jared’s luxury car.

Jared kept himself busy with work the entire drive, while Natasha kept herself occupied texting Dorothy.

They barely exchanged a single word the whole way.

Jared’s luxury car finally pulled up in front of Oceanview International, Natasha’s apartment complex.

“I’m here,” Natasha said, reaching for her seatbelt.

She unbuckled it and got ready to hop out.

But before Natasha could even reach for the door, Jared snatched her wrist out of nowhere.

She spun around, only to be pulled right into his embrace.

He pressed her down onto the seat, claiming her lips in a hungry kiss, which was raw and untamed, full of passion.

The tension in the tight car went through the roof, heat crackling between them,

Natasha could feel his heat crashing through her mouth, wild and unstoppable.

After a long moment, Jared finally let her go, breathing hard.

Natasha pushed him away, her cheeks flaming as she opened the door and got out.

Before she could even close the door, she heard Jared’s deep, husky voice behind her. “Wanna come over to my place tomorrow night?”
