There was a sharp tearing sound. Natasha gasped.

Jared had ripped a gash in her dress.

She told herself, ‘This isn’t right. We shouldn’t be doing this.

‘I’m not even divorced yet.

‘If I go through with this, am I any better than Percy, that scumbag who cheated on me while we were still married?’

Jared’s gaze grew darker.

He seemed to know exactly what Natasha was worried about.

His voice was low and husky as he whispered in her ear, “Relax, your husband will never hear a word from me.”

Natasha felt dazed, her mind reeling.

For a moment, her resistance faltered.

Natasha thought, ‘He said he wouldn’t tell Percy.

‘Does this count as an affair?’

When Natasha woke up, her whole body felt utterly exhausted, as if she’d been thoroughly ravaged all night.

The first thing she saw was an unreasonably handsome face right in front of her.

Natasha thought, ‘Jared? Why is he in my bed?’

Even more shocking, Jared was stark naked.

She was completely naked, too.

Natasha’s heart was about to jump out of her throat.

Shocked, she tried to remember what had happened last night.

Natasha thought, ‘I really hooked up with Jared.

‘And it wasn’t just once.

‘Last night, after the business dinner, he brought me straight home. He couldn’t keep his hands off me.

‘He flirted and teased me, and my nervous disorder kicked in.

‘My resolve wavered, and he got his way.

‘Oh, my! What was l’even thinking?’

Natasha was lost, not knowing what to do next.

She still wasn’t divorced from Percy.

‘Does this count as cheating? Did I make Percy a cuckold? Natasha wondered, anxiety twisting in her gut.

But honestly, last night was pretty damn good for her.

Jared wasn’t just good-looking. He had a killer body and insane stamina.

Having sex with him once was worth it.

But things were about to get messy.

From now on, Jared and Natasha weren’t just boss and subordinate anymore. Their relationship had officially crossed the

‘Did I really just sleep my way up with my boss?’ Natasha thought, her mind spinning.

Natasha scratched her head in frustration, feeling completely lost.

She still hadn’t figured out what her relationship with Jared was supposed to be from here on out.

She thought again, ‘Better to get out of here for now.’

Jared was sleeping soundly, eyes still shut.

While he was still asleep, Natasha carefully lifted the covers and got ready to slip out of bed.

But as soon as her foot touched the floor, she slipped and landed flat on the ground.

Good thing there was a carpet. Otherwise, she would’ve wiped out.

‘Oh, no, Natasha thought, panic rising in her chest.

She looked like someone who’d totally overdone it last night.

Gritting her teeth, Natasha endured the soreness all over her body as she pushed herself up from the floor.

Her hands trembled as she tried to get dressed.

But Jared ripped her dress apart last night. There was no way she could wear it now.

Natasha had no choice but to head to the closet and grab a fresh outfit.

Thankfully, Jared had some clothes here from when she’d stayed over before. He’d had someone buy them for her, just in

case.

Natasha slipped into them as fast as she could, then darted out the door.

She was hoping to sneak out unnoticed, but as soon as she got downstairs, she came face-to-face with Margot.

“Ms. Whittier?” Margot said.

Margot looked at her, stunned.

Realization dawned on her.

‘That explains the women’s clothes by the entryway, Margot thought.

Jared was always so cold and self-controlled. He practically never brought women back home.

The moment she saw it was Natasha, Margot didn’t even bat an eye.

She’d always known Jared had a soft spot for Natasha.

“Margot… Hi…” Natasha mumbled, awkwardly blurting out a greeting.

“Ms. Whittier, you haven’t had breakfast yet, have you?” Margot was quick to fuss, her concern obvious. “Would you like…

Natasha hurriedly interrupted, flustered. “No, thanks. I’ve got things to do, so I’ll get going…”

She finished speaking in a rush and made a beeline for the front door.

Margot watched her leave, a small smile curling at her lips.

‘At last, Jared’s acting like a regular guy, Margot thought, amused.

Natasha rushed back to her new apartment at Oceanview International.

As soon as she walked in, she made a beeline for the bathroom and jumped into the shower.

Once she was clean, she slipped into her office outfit, ready for work.

Just as she was about to head out, her phone suddenly rang.

Natasha glanced at the screen and found it odd.

It was her father Bernard Whittier’s assistant, Darren, calling.

“Hello, Darren?” Natasha answered, a bit surprised.

“Ms. Whittier, Mr. Whittier wants to see you. Could you come to the Whittier Group?” Darren said.

Natasha was taken aback.

‘Dad actually wants to see me? Well, hell must have frozen over!’ Natasha thought, her mind spinning.

Ever since she was little, Bernard had always ignored her, as if she were as if she were invisible to him.

Now, for no reason at all, he suddenly wanted to see her?

And he wanted her to come to the Whittier Group for it?

This was super weird.

Bernard hardly ever saw Natasha at the Whittier family estate, let alone at the Whittier Group.

He always kept her strictly away from anything to do with the Whittier Group.

The Whittier Group was reserved exclusively for Collin and Joelle.

As the illegitimate daughter born to his mistress, Natasha didn’t even have the right to set foot in there.

Even though Natasha had a million questions swirling in her mind, she still headed to the Whittier Group after having breakfast.

Darren had made sure someone was waiting for her in the lobby downstairs.

“Ms. Whittier, please follow me,” the person said.

Natasha took the elevator up to the floor where the chairman’s office was.

An assistant opened the office door for her.

Natasha stepped inside.

Her father, Bernard, was putting golf balls in his office.

“You’re here,” Bernard said, without turning to face her.

He showed no reaction to her arrival.

Natasha walked up behind him and asked, “Dad, you wanted to see me?”

Bernard made a putt, still not bothering to look at her.

He instructed coolly, “Yes. Go and check in with HR on your own.”

“Dad, what did you just say?” she blurted out.

Bernard wiped down his golf club and finally turned to face her.

“Didn’t you hear what I said? Starting today, you’re working at the Whittier Group. I’ve arranged a position for you,” he said,

his voice cold and leaving no room for argument.

Natasha finally understood what her father meant.

He wanted her to come help out at the Whittier Group.

“But I already have a job,” Natasha said.

“Quit your job. From now on, you’re working at the Whittier Group,” he declared, making it clear she had no say in the matter
