The rest of the tour passed in a blur after that.

Mostly because my brain remained completely stuck on the fact that we had potentially just discovered a hidden. alexandrite source.

Then they showed us the castle.

And suddenly nothing else mattered.

The structure rose directly from the mountainside like something stolen from a fantasy novel.

Tall stone towers.

Massive arched windows.

Ancient ivy climbing across dark walls.

It was breathtaking.

I actually stopped walking entirely.

“Oh,” I whispered.

Jason immediately noticed my expression.

I turned toward him slowly, completely serious.

“Oh, Jason…”

My eyes widened helplessly while staring at the castle,

“We are buying this.”

Several people behind us laughed quietly.

I ignored them completely.

“I want this,” I informed him firmly. “I need this castle.”

And I really did.

Because standing there beneath the mountain sky, staring at ancient towers wrapped in mist and stone

It looked exactly like something out of a fantasy world.

And unfortunately for everyone around me-

I loved fantasy things far too much to walk away from a real castle.

The mayor and the governor exchanged amused looks beside us.

Then, surprisingly, the governor cleared his throat.

“Well,” he said carefully, “that actually simplifies things considerably.”

I blinked and turned toward him.

“What do you mean?”

he governor smiled faintly before gesturing toward one of the men standing farther behind the security detail.

A’middle-aged man carrying a thick leather briefcase immediately stepped forward.

“Our notary traveled with us today,” the governor explained calmly.

Jason straightened slightly beside me.

My grandfather’s eyes narrowed immediately with interest.

“And,” the governor continued, “the land rights are currently under my administration pending final approval”.

Silence settled around us instantly.

The mayor smiled awkwardly.

“To be honest,” he admitted, “we hoped you would accept the project.”

The governor nodded once.

“You already have successful operations in Sum through the Sun corporation,” he told Jason. “And the Asher family has the infrastructure and resources to actually develop this area properly.”

A pause.

“We do not need promises of luxury.”

His expression sharpened slightly.

“We need jobs.”

That answer alone told me more about the country’s current situation than any report had managed to.

The governor extended the leather folder directly toward us.

“Create opportunities for the local people,” he said simply. “And the land is yours.”

Jason accepted the contract first before immediately passing it to me.

My grandfather leaned closer over my shoulder while I opened the documents carefully.

The acquisition terms themselves were surprisingly straightforward.

Land rights.

Mining permissions.

Preservation agreements.

Then one section caught my attention instantly.

My eyes narrowed slightly while rereading the clause.

“What is it?” Jason asked quietly beside me.

I kept reading slowly.

The castle must remain structurally preserved and unchanged due to its recognized historical value.

That part made sense.

Honestly, I would have refused to alter it anyway.

But the second clause…

That one made my stomach tighten.

The land may not be resold or transferred to third-party entities under any circumstance.

Strange.

Very strange.
