A Woman Worth Billions Dated the Wrong Brother novel Chapter 159

Iris.

They were at the fairy house.

With Mrs. Sun.

Safe.

That thought grounded me for a fraction of a second.

But it was not enough.

Because everyone else-

Was still in danger.

Dozens of lives.

People who had done nothing wrong.

I exhaled slowly, forcing the emotion down, turning it into something sharper.

More controlled.

No. 1

I refused.

I refused to be the reason so many people died.

This was not strategy.

This was not control.

This was destruction.

I turned again, searching the room one more time, more carefully now, forcing myself to look for anything I might have missed.

I checked the walls again, the floor, the ceiling, the cages, the tables, every surface.

Nothing.

No hidden door.

No secondary exit.

No override.

There was no way out.

I stopped in the center of the room, finally allowing the truth to settle.

I was trapped.

For a brief moment, my thoughts flickered back to Jason.

Where was he?

What had he found behind that door?

But I pushed the questions aside.

I trusted him.

If he had not come back yet, it meant he was doing something that mattered.

Something that could change this.

And until then-

I would not stand still.

I lifted my gaze back to the cameras.

To him.

“You do not get to decide how this ends,” I said quietly.

Because even trapped-

even surrounded-

I was not done.

And I was not going to lose.

I followed the cables.

They ran along the walls, partially hidden, feeding into the systems that powered everything in that room-the mist, the projections, the cameras.

Control.

That was what Emilian had built.

And control always had a source.

I moved in silence, keeping to the shadows as I traced the wiring deeper into the structure behind the walls. The suit bent the light around me, keeping me out of sight, turning me into nothing more than a distortion in the dark.

The further I went, the quieter it became.

Until I found it.

A hidden room.

I stepped inside without making a sound.

Three bodies were tied to chairs.

The missing Beckers.

All unconscious.

Their condition was clear at a glance. Their faces were bruised, their clothes stained, their bodies slack from either exhaustion or repeated blows.

They were alive.

But barely.

They would need medical attention.

But they were not my priority.

Amber was.

I moved past them, following the cables further, deeper into the structure.

Then I heard it.

Her voice.

Calm.

Controlled.

And his.

Unstable.

I followed the sound carefully, step by step, until I reached a wall.

At least, that was what it looked like at first.

Then I realized.

It was not a wall.

It was a mirror.

I stepped closer.

And there he was.

On the other side.

Emilian. 1

Standing just a few feet away.

So close I could see every detail of his face, every small movement, every crack in the control he was trying to maintain.

He did not see me.

He was too focused.

Too consumed.

Looking straight through the glass-

at Amber.

I remained completely still, watching, listening.

“You are not leaving,” Emilian said, his voice low, almost reverent. “I am never letting you go.”

My jaw tightened. 1

His hand lifted and pressed lightly against the glass, as if he could reach through it, as if she were already within his grasp.

“I am taking everything with me,” he continued.

A pause.

His smile stretched.

“The Sun family.”

Another pause.

“The Asher family.”

His eyes darkened.

“The Beckers.”

A beat.

“And the Vinnys.”

Silence followed.

Heavy.

Final.

This was not a threat.

This was a decision.

Something in me shifted.

Cold. 1

Focused.

There was no negotiation left.

No strategy that involved restraint.

He was not trying to win.

He was trying to destroy everything.

And that meant I did not need to hold back.

I glanced at the cables feeding into the system, tracing them quickly, identifying the control points.

Then I looked back at him.

So close.

Unaware.

For the first time since we walked into this place-

I had the advantage.

And this time-

I was not going to let him take anything else.

I stayed still for a moment longer, watching him through the glass.

Listening.

Memorizing.

Emilian was completely focused on Amber.

Good.

That meant he was blind to everything else.

I shifted my attention away from him and began scanning the room.

There had to be a way out.

A way in.
