A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 1319

Back then, all Susanna did was throw tantrums about Fairfax's safety. Now, the second Yvonne stepped foot in the city, Fairfax was suddenly old news.

Clearly, her time in Cyrus Sea had taught her a few things about survival and status. She had seen how Yardley looked at Yvonne, and she was terrified. But what did she expect to achieve by lashing out?

"My brother is with your father, isn't he?" Susanna spat, her voice trembling with rage. "If anything happens to him, I swear I won't let you get away with it!"

"Are you actually threatening me?" Starla laughed. It was absurd. The sheer audacity of this woman.

"He's only in this mess because of you! You're a curse, Starla!"

"Even if I am a curse, what exactly are you going to do about it?" Starla challenged, her voice dropping to a dangerous purr.

"Looks like we have nothing left to discuss." Starla hung up, tossing the phone back onto her desk.

Susanna was completely losing her grip on reality. Her obsession with Yardley was baffling to Starla. From what she had seen, Yardley treated Susanna terribly. He was cold, calculated, and devoid of any real affection. Yet here was Susanna, spiraling into a jealous frenzy over another woman.

Between Herbert, Fairfax, and now Yardley's circus, it was just one massive headache.

Yvonne burst into laughter. "Wow. She really still thinks of you as a Yelchin, doesn't she?"

"God forbid," Starla shuddered. Being tied to that family was the last thing she wanted.
