Cedric waved his hands frantically, insisting he just wanted to donate some money to the professional's organization. "Come on, an expert like you shouldn't be taking this kind of money. It's not about the cash, right?"
Seeing the professional’s old-fashioned attitude, Cedric got quite peeved and slammed his hand on the table, erupting, "No wonder you're bald as a coot! It's that stubborn streak of yours that's sucked every hair from your scalp!"
The professional, affronted, shot up in retaliation, "Hey, you can insult my intelligence if you want, but don't you dare insult my hair!"
"I'll insult your hair all I want!"
Just as the two were about to come to blows, the Elwood siblings, clutching their bellies, wailed, "Daddy, we haven't eaten all day. We're starving..."
Cedric, with anger churning inside him, immediately redirected it at the Elwood kids, "You two are always thinking with your stomachs. Why can't you be like Damian? He cuts down on the snacks and hits the books!"
The Elwood siblings shook their heads in unison, "Dad, we can barely recognize all the letters, let alone read. We're just not interested. Snacks, on the other hand..."
The professional, seizing the moment to turn the tables, chimed in, "Take a good look at them. Do they even remotely resemble child prodigies?"
Cedric, left speechless and fuming, scooped up a child in each arm, "You bald-headed fool, your crummy institute can just wait to go under!"
Before heading back to A City, Cedric redid the IQ test on the computer, printed out new results, and with kids in tow, strutted over to Bernard to boast.
"Bernard, check this out. My kids are smart too, especially my boy here—148 IQ! He's gonna make it to Mensa someday!"
Bernard, furiously typing away in his study, didn't even look up as he asked the young Elwood, "Elwood, what's sixty-eight times forty-two?"
Elwood, who was munching on potato chips, stretched out his grubby fingers to count and after three minutes, came up with, "110."
Cedric's leg swept out in a karate move, "That's multiplication, not addition! What happened to everything you've been taught? Did it all go to the dogs?!"
Elwood’s lip quivered, and Bernard, lifting his gaze, shot the boy a comforting look. "Cedric, your son is really quite clever..."
Cedric, unable to discern the sarcasm, slowly retracted his karate stance, "Why can't I have a genius like Dame..."
Bernard glanced over, "Because you're not a genius."

Loved the story, many times caught in so much actually crying with the situation. Wish had more chapters to a better ending....
It's weird that the story went from narrative to slang use. Good story so far though...
