A Man with Nerves of Steel (Joseph Hart) novel Chapter 597

Chapter 597

Fiona was practically ready to explode upon seeing Joseph’s smug face. She slammed her hand on the table and snapped, “Y-You’re absolute scum!”

“You can always refuse. But what I’ve got in my hands is pretty important to Ms. Lowell. If you screw this up, it might put a real strain on your little sisterly boss-employee dynamic.”

Joseph spoke casually, clearly in no hurry.

“Fine. You win!”

Fiona grabbed the bag and reluctantly went to change. When she noticed how perfectly the uniform fit, she was shocked that Joseph had even gotten her exact measurements and felt even more humiliated.

When she saw how different she looked, a rather shameless idea crossed her mind. She wanted to humiliate Joseph by making him crawl between her legs.

When she came back out, she caught Joseph snapping pictures of her. She tried to stop him, but it was no use.

“Don’t worry, I won’t spread them around. I just need to show them to Ms. Natalie Zahn. Otherwise, she won’t believe we actually had dinner together. Oh, and by the way, you’re wearing that outfit back to the office. At the very least, Natalie needs to see you in that.”

When Fiona held out her hand, Joseph handed her a wax-sealed envelope and told her to take it back to Cora unopened.

After that, the two of them left together, parting ways as soon as they walked out the door.

By the time Joseph arrived at Beatrice’s place, Fiona had just walked into the office. Her new look had all her coworkers turning their heads and praising her for looking so polished and sophisticated.

“Cora, he’s going to drive me insane! That guy is an absolute pervert!”

Fiona handed the envelope to Cora as she complained.

Natalie, standing nearby, was utterly stunned. The normally haughty Fiona was actually being manipulated by some no-name doctor named Henry. And worse, everything he had said had actually happened.

Natalie wondered if he really needed to pay him first before he could see Skylar.

She steeled herself. If five million dollars was what it took, then she was going to pay!

She noticed that instead of opening the envelope she had received, Cora casually slipped it into her desk drawer.

Cora said, “I’m sorry you had to go through that, Fiona. Men might know when to back down and when to stand their ground, but women can do the same. Dr. Jebb crossed the line this time.

“When he finally falls into our hands, we’ll make him pay twice as much. By then, maybe he’ll even pay with his life.”

Fiona didn’t dare complain anymore. She went back to her office and immediately changed out of the outfit.

Natalie might not be allowed to leave the building, but she could still roam around freely. She marched into

Fiona’s office and asked, “What kind of deal did you and Mom make with Henry?”

“I don’t know either. I was just the errand girl who had to bring the letter back.”

The more Fiona thought about it, the more depressed she got. She didn’t know anything, yet she was just being ordered around like a lackey.

“Why didn’t you open it and take a look?” Natalie asked, her mind buzzing with curiosity.

“You saw it yourself-it has anti-tampering seals on it. If it’s even slightly damaged, your mom will notice instantly. And if she cross-checks with that jerk, she’ll know I peeked. How could I do that? Your mom trusts me, and I can’t betray that trust.”

“How loyal of you!”

Natalie hit a dead end. She tried texting Joseph again later, but got no reply.

Meanwhile, Joseph was currently enjoying a massage. As he underwent the groin therapy, he began to understand the corresponding treatment for women a little better.

The next day at work, Joseph got a call from Natalie. She agreed to pay him five million dollars on the condition that he help her escape the new Lowell Group building and make sure she got to see Skylar.

Joseph suggested, “You could just fake an illness and get admitted to the hospital. Once you’re a patient there, seeing whoever you want is a piece of cake. But don’t rush it-your dad hasn’t woken up yet.
