Chapter 595
Kaya was immediately taken away by the Zalın Yamily’s people and brought to Emerald Mountain.
Joseph didn’t know what happened after that, but both Yara and Gemma told him things weren’t looking good for Kaya.
However, Joseph knew that as long as Kaya didn’t spill the beans on who was pulling her strings, her life wouldn’t be in danger. But of course, she was still going to be punished severely even if her life was spared.
Joseph had just finished his work and was taking a sip of water when Cora called him, telling him to come down to the underground parking lot because she was already waiting there.
What did she want?
Joseph was free at the moment, so he headed straight down. When he saw a car flash its headlights twice, he walked over and
noticed that it was Cora’s new car.
After making sure no one was around, he hopped in. Cora was just as stunning as ever.
Joseph asked, “Ms. Lowell, you sounded pretty urgent. What’s up?”
“I heard Skylar was poisoned. Is he dead yet?”
“Seems like you’re well-informed, Ms. Lowell. Then you should already know his diagnosis, right?”
Joseph knew Cora had moles in the Traditional Medicine Center too.
“But you people from the medical sect are still the ones with access to firsthand information, especially someone who is as skilled as you. You’re one of the very few who get access to the highly classified intel. I don’t trust anyone else. I only trust you.”
“You’re giving me way too much credit! To be honest, Skylar’s condition is pretty dire. If he can’t make it through tomorrow, he really is going to die in his 40s.
“It all depends on the treatment from the medical sect, but also on his own will to survive. Ms. Lowell, you and your kids should pray for him.”
Cora’s eyes turned sharp and cold when she heard that. Her intimidating presence closed in on him, making her seem like a vicious wild beast.
Joseph quickly waved his hands. “Hey, don’t glare at me like that. I’m just telling the truth.”
Cora mused, “This guy isn’t afraid of me…”
She reined in her expression and said calmly, “I hope you don’t say such things again. There’s nothing between Skylar and me. There’s just a misunderstanding surrounding the DNA test results.”
“Alright, whatever you say, Ms. Lowell. Now that you know Skylar isn’t dead, are you still going to use my plan to debunk Joseph’s DNA test results?”
Joseph sneered inwardly, thinking that Cora’s stubbornness was truly unmatched.
“Of course. Skylar’s situation and my relationship with my husband are two separate matters. Don’t mix the two up.”
“I wouldn’t dream of it.”
Joseph pulled out a few items, adding, “Ms. Lowell, I’ve already worked out the plan and have the samples ready. All you need to do is get a suitable sample from your daughter, and we can run the comparison.”
“Oh, you work fast!”
Cora held out her hand, but Joseph didn’t hand them over. She frowned and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Joseph said, “Don’t treat me like your personal errand boy. I may be willing to work like a horse, but I still need to eat.”
Cora’s lips twitched, her face hardening, Joseph really wouldn’t lift a finger unless there was money involved.
She transferred him the money, but he still didn’t hand over the samples. She snapped, “Do you want to cross me? You’d better think carefully about the consequences of going against me.”
