After getting the address, Joseph left the hospital and headed straight there.

But when he was about three miles away, Fiona’s car forced him to a stop. He was blocked from the front by another car, leaving him trapped.

Was Cora getting nervous already?

Joseph didn’t let Fiona into his car. Instead, he lowered his window halfway. “Fiona, what the hell are you doing? Move!”

Fiona smiled politely, looking as though she wouldn’t fight back no matter how harshly Joseph spoke to her.” Joseph, Ms. Lowell asked me to bring you back to the hospital. There’s someone you need to save.”

Joseph shouted, “You know exactly what Cora is doing. If you’re still going to stop me from exposing her, then you’ve really lost your conscience.”

Fiona’s tone remained calm. “Cora is at a business meeting. It’s not what you’re imagining. The truth is, she loves you more than anyone, and she’s never done anything to betray you. You’re the one who’s overthinking things. Joseph, just go back to the hospital.”

Joseph was just about to berate Fiona when his phone rang with a call from Dave. He rolled up the window before answering.

Dave informed him that Sirius’ condition had suddenly worsened and that the hospital needed him there immediately.

Joseph said, “I’m on my way.”

Cora would regret this one day.

After the call ended, Joseph called Grace. “Can your people deal with Cora’s lapdogs? Actually, there probably isn’t enough time for that. How likely is it that your people can get into the resort to obtain proof of Cora’s cheating?”

Grace sighed. “Not very likely. Besides, even if I get the evidence, would you believe it if you didn’t see it with your own eyes? Honestly, you’ve already alerted Cora. She’ll probably have moved to another place by the time you get there. Joseph, wait for the next opportunity.”

Joseph ended the call. After ordering Fiona to leave, he returned to the hospital.

Joseph let out a cold laugh. “Didn’t you say I was just an ungrateful brat? Weren’t you threatening to beat me to death? Even after all that, you’re offended by a few unpleasant truths? Bernard, I’m going to say this again. Cora – cheated first, so we should get divorced!”

Bernard finally softened his tone. “Joseph, can we discuss the divorce later? Right now, focus on saving the patients. After that, I’ll talk to Cora. She’ll listen to me and agree to the divorce.”

Joseph was furious. “I’m already focused on the patients! Do you think Sirius would still be alive right now if not for that? If you’d sent him anywhere else, he’d be dead already.

“As for Jason and Avery, if you think I haven’t done enough, then transfer them elsewhere! If they leave this hospital and still manage to survive for two more days, I’ll take your family name!”

Joseph vented out all his frustrations. How could the Lowells still be questioning his professional ethics?

In the middle of their heated argument, Joseph’s phone rang again. This time, it was one of his daughters’ teachers. “I’m sorry, but I’m very busy right now. Please contact their mother instead. Don’t call me anymore.”

After hanging up, he turned to Bernard. “Just look at the time. Cora’s so busy fooling around with her lover that she can’t even be bothered to pick up her own daughter. I can’t leave here, so get someone to go do it.”
