After dropping Natalie off at the girls’ school, Fiona immediately went to report to Cora.

“Fiona, do you think Joseph and Natalie could make anything out of this?” Cora didn’t want Natalie involved, but Joseph didn’t see it that way.

In fact, Natalie had entered a rebellious state. She would appear to comply, but act otherwise.

“This could be a great way to build her character. It’ll be very beneficial for her development.” Fiona could still tell that Cora’s future successor would be Natalie. Even though there were several promising youths in the family, none of them was as bright as her.

Suddenly, Fiona received word that Joseph had already left the Crest District. In a few minutes, she would know whether he was on his way home.

“Joe’s on his way home?” Cora was a little surprised.

Not long after Cora dismissed Fiona, Joseph arrived home. He handed his old clothes to the housekeeper before joining Cora for dinner. They even opened two bottles of fine wine.

Cora and Joseph did not talk about Ernest’s surgery or anything about the hospital, as it would only lead to a fight.

Cora brought up their children’s grades. She was getting a little concerned, as their grades were slipping. She was hoping that Joseph would spend more time tutoring the children, just like before.

“They’re someone else’s kids. Why should their grades have anything to do with me?” Joseph went on to say that he had to work on his doctoral thesis and would also be busy with his career. He asked Cora to put in more effort to hire professional tutors.

“Joe, you’ve changed. You were never like this before.” Cora really wanted to tell Joseph that his career didn’t matter, but she knew that would hurt his pride and start a fight.

Joseph then left the hospital and went straight to his laboratory. After examining the footage with a fine- tooth comb, he noticed that the woman had arrived at the hospital with Frank and the others. He suspected the woman was connected to Frank, but since he wasn’t sure, he took a few screenshots.

Joseph called a relative of his former patient who worked in the police force. He had treated the patient three months ago, and under his care, years of chronic headaches were resolved. He even discovered an early-stage liver lesion in time.

The patient’s relative was really grateful to Joseph and eager to help him out. Very quickly, they retrieved the woman’s basic information and forwarded it to him.

The woman was Marla Sheppard, deputy general manager of Jenton Tourism.

Joseph dug into it further and realized the figurehead CEO, Sharon Miller, also had connections to the Lowells. She was the mother of Jackson Lowell, who used to be in charge of Nonagon Chemical.
