Chapter 35
Caelum sighs when he realise I wasn’t going to do anything, and returned back to his on the stool, picking up his brush. I picked up a random art book, flipping through the pages with zero interest and occasionally watched as he shifts and kept twitching in his seat, and to the major hard on he was dealing with. This made it difficult for him to focus on what he was painting.
The sight makes me smile. “You are doing a terrible job pretending you’re focused.”
His ear turned pink. “I am focused.”.
“Right,” his jaw tightens and I let out a soft laugh, looking towards the canvas balanced on the easel. “What exactly are you painting over there?”
His brush froze for half a second. “Nothing.”
“Well, it can’t be nothing if you were so freaking focused when I had walked in.”
“It’s a project.”
I raised a brow. “A project of what?”
He seemed hesistant for a moment before answering. “It’s a special type of painting,” this catches my attention and I close the book in my hand, giving him the go ahead to continue. He glances down toward the canvas. “You can’t fully see the image under normal light, there’s a coating applied over certain section, depending on the angel, liting or material used. Part of the image remain hidden.”
“Like a secret paining?”
“A little.”
“That’s actually kind of cool.”
A faint smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. “The image changes depending on how its viewed.”
I immediately hot up from the couch. “Let me see.”
“No.” He lets out almost immediately, causing me to raise a brow. “It’s not finished yet.”
“You don’t trust me?”
His gaze move to meet mine, and his ears turned slightly red. “I do, but…” he looks away and I could tell he was a bit
nervous.
I didn’t bother pushing him as my attention drifts elsewhere, landing on a familiar silver chain that had slipped free from beneath the collar of his shirt.
The chain caught the light as he moved, I nudged toward it. “You always wear that.”
His hand immediately rose to the necklace. “Yeah.”
“Since when.”
“Since I was thirteen.” I studied the crosss for a moment.
“Your family is really religious, aren’t they?”
A small nod. “My father is, and also is my mother. My family in general.”

Chapter 35
The answer didn’t surprise me, not when everything about him reflected the way he had been raised. The discipline, rules and the constant need to do the right thing.
I took my spot back on the couch. “My family was the same.” That got his attention again.
“You grew up religious?”
I laughed softly. “Very.” Mermories instantly surface, Sundays services, Bible studies, with rules that seemed to multiply
every year.
“My mother side is very religious, they still are.” I said slowly, the small homourless smile makes its way to my lips, remembering how my last encounter with her side of the family had been.
“If you have spent your entire life being taught not to sin, then why are you doing this with me.” I asked quietly. “Doesn’ it go against everything you’ve ever believed?”
His brush still again against the canvas, the room fell silent, and for a moment he simply stared at the unfinished painting before setting the brush down altogether, then he turned and walked toward me.
I wasn’t sure what it was, but I felt my pulse quicken as he steps directly in front of me, before taking a spot beside me, barely any space on the couch between us.
“I never thought about any of this before,” he admits, his voice was low and thoughtful. “Not seriously, anyway.” His gaze lifted to meet mine. “I’ve never wanted to do any of this before, at least not untill recently.”
There was no hesitation in his eyes, just honesty. “And maybe part of me knows I shouldn’t want it,” he continued. “But that doesn’t change the fact that I do.”
I place my hand on his shoulder, “Then we won’t let that happen, It’s clear you want to explore your wants and needs,” he nods his head and tosses my hands around his neck, bringing him closer to my face. “Then we’ll explore them,” I said softly. “One step at a time.”
His gaze met mine and a mischievous smile pulled at my lips. “And if that means bending a few rules along the way, I think you’ll survive.” I leaned closer. “Especially when you’ve got a perfect sinner to guide you.”
I don’t give him the chance to say anything before my lips locked on his, and I feel him let out a sigh of relief, as my teeth sinks solftly into his plump bottom lip. He moves back, leaning closer, and pushing me backward till my back hits the couch and with him onto of me with his falling onto my bare thighs now that my skirt has gone up.
