A Kiss at Midnight (Delilah and Caelum) novel Chapter 11

Chapter 11

There was no way I could carry on with the rest of school, I needed a release and I needed it now.

It didn’t matter what it was, something, someone, a toy, someone’s else fingers.

Fuck. Just anything.

It’s been weeks, a month, that was more than I could last for. This school always manages to deprive one of pleasure, it was nothing but frustrating.

Especially with Landon, and the whole tutor thing which had been nothing but absolute torture.

So right now, I couldn’t give a damn if I got caught in this janitor room with the random guy, gripping my hips.

“Fuck” I moan as my nails digging into his shoulders, knowing what my body had been craving finally swept through me, leaving me completely undone.

I slipped off his lap, smoothing down my skirt, before proceeding to fix my hair while behind me, he muttered out a curse under his breath as he adjusted the belt of his black slacks

“We should do this again,” he said, his voice low and amused.

“This is a one time thing.”

Honestly, I had already forgotten his name even before we went down into business. He was nothing more but a distraction anyway, something to quiet the ache that had been clawing at me for the past weeks, because I couldn’t survive till the weekends.

Without giving him not so much as a glance, I stepped out of the dark room, I nearly walked straight into Daniel. Raising a brow at this, I couldn’t help wonder what he was doing here when he should be in class.

The moment our eyes met, he quickly looked away, the poor looked like he was regretting even his own existence. I quickly close the door shut behind me, before the guy inside could walk out, then turned my attention back to Daniel.

He stood there awkward and all, while clutching a few books againt his chest like they were some kind of shield. His glasses slipped down his noses, and the second he looked at me again, his entire face turned pink.

Aww, cute

“Uh… h..hi,” he stammered.

I raised a brow. “Daniel,” my gaze shifted slightly to the door behind me and my brows creased together,” how exactly did you know I was here?” there was no way I could hide the suspicion that was laced in my voice.

With every moment filled with awkwardness, he pushes his glasses up to his nose, for the third freaking time, avoiding eye contact. “I…uh, saw you walk in earlier.”

I crossed my arms across my chest, giving him side eyes to be sure I had heard him correctly. “Wait,” I raised a brow, “you’ve been standing here the whole time?”

An horrifying looking rested on his face almost immediately. “No!, I mean..not the whole time…”

“Oh my God, Daniel.” I stared at him, “that’s actually insane.”

“I wasn’t listening on purpose,” he defended quickly, his voice cracking, “I just wanted to tell you something concerning out tutor session and then the door closed and I didn’t know what to do and leaving suddenly felt rude and I…”

Chapter 11

My gaze remained on him for a second or two before a grin slowly spreads across my lips. “I see.” I purred out softly, as I tease him. “Tell me Daniel, is that the type of person you are. Does listening to people have sex turn you on.”

This made him freeze in place and his face ones again turn red but this time it was more violent.

“I… WHAT, NO.” He looked like he was practically choking on air. “I wasn’t listening!.”

“Mhm.”

“I swear!”

Tilting my head to the side, batting my eyeslash at him. “So you didn’t enjoy the moaning through the door.”

My lips pressed together, fighting back the smile that threatens to leave my lips, when I spot the horrifying look on his face. It was almost as if his soul had visible left his body.

“I’m going to fail my classes,” he muttered, his voice sounding like head in complete despair, and this time I didn’t bother holding back ny laughter.

He covers his burning face with one hand as he groan, while the other clutches tightly to his books.

Deciding not to tease him anymore, I asked. “What is it you wanted to tell me, that made you not mind listening to me having sex with someone in the janitors closet.”

He adjusted his glasses again nervously, refusing to look at me fully in the eyes. “I came to talk to you about…our tutoring

session.”

There was something in his tone that had wiped of whatever playness in me, and it made my stomach twist.

“What about it?”

“…can’t…” He gulped hard, ” I can’t tutor you anymore, Delilah.”

“What?” My brows furrowed..”What do you mean by that?”

“I tried,” he rushes out quickly, his ears turning red now. “I really did but you’re just…” he motioned vaguely toward me before groaning under his breath, “too much.”

I blinked at him before slowly repeating. “Too much?”

He looked like was seconds away from combusting, “you..sit too close and stare at me and sometimes you smell really good and I forget what I’m even teaching.”

What in the hell

A laugh almost escaped me, almost. As I stared at him incredulously. “So, let me get this straight. You are quitting because

I’m hot?”

“That’s not what…” his face turned even redder, “I mean, yes, no. Kinda.” My hands fells to my side as I stared at him, highly amused now. “I just think,” he continues weakly, “maybe you should try Caelum instead.”

What ever amusement I felt, vanished almost instantly.

Of course

Of freaking course

And again everything just had to circle back to Caelum

Chapter 11

I let out some very very colourful words, because bothering to sensor my words, making Daniel awkwardly shift on his feet, clearly realizing he had said the wrong thing.

I’m guessing he already knew about Caelum already rejecting me.

Twice

“Look, he’s really smart,” Daniel added carefully, “probably smarter than me, honestly.”

“Wow,” I let out dryly,” you really know how to make a girl feel special.”

“I didn’t mean it like that.”. he panicked quickly.

I sighed quietly, before brushing past him. “Relax, Daniel. I’m not gonna cry over some nerd rejecting me.”

Again.

Unfortunately for me, my ego was already preparing the funeral.

Making my way down the hallway, I make no attempt to look back at Daniel or even care to check whether or not the guy I just had a one night stand with had made his way out from the janitor’s closet, or even bothered with remembering his

name.

It just wasn’t my cup of tea

I ignore the sound of students talking as the sound echoed through the halls as I walked lazily past classrooms, fixing the sleeve of my oversized sweater, and then my steps slowed,, stopping just right in front of one of the classroom doors, staring through the small glass window.

“What the hell am I doing here.” I muttered to myself as my eyes scanned the room before realization suddenly hit me.

Oh, for everything bloody holy

I was right in front of the classroom where the nerds gathered to see who was more nerdier than who.

Fighting the urge to roll my eyes at the fact that I was here again for the third. But then again, what did they say about the third time being the best, or something along the line.

Yeah, sure, whatever

Leaning a bit, I slowly peeped through the small glass window on the classroom door as my eyes wandering and searching for Caelum among the students inside.

It had taken at least a second or two before I caught sight of him leaning against one of the desks near the front of the room in his never ending infomous wrinkled gray hoodie and faded black sweats that looked like they had given up on life before he did.

Didn’t he have anything else to wear

Shaking my head at this, my gaze wanders up to his hair, dark and messy in an unintentional way, not the hot guy from a movie kind either, just plain messy.

And unfortunately, he wasn’t alone

There was a girl standing next to me, and no it wasn’t Olivia. This was a complete different girl in the same category as they were. She was clutching a thick book against her chest while seemingly talking his ears off.

What ever she was saying to him, she looked way too invested while Caelum stared at her with the same expression people had during math exams.

Finally, after at least a minute or two, he interrupted whatever she was saying, his words seemed to be short but clearly more than enough to have her face fall instantly.

Well, damn

Poor thing

Tsk tsk tsk

My gaze shifted from her to Caelum who was now shoving his notebook into his bag carelessly and without another glance walked away from her. My eyes narrowed, wondering where he was going to, but didn’t have to ponder for long when he turned toward the classroom door, making his way straight towards me.

“Oh, crap. “I hurriedly jumped away from the door, flattening myself against the wall beside it, squeezing into the corner before he could walk out and see me standing there like some creepy stalker.

Not that I was stalking him

Technically, it’s a free hallway, I can go where ever the hell I want

The classroom door opens in a second later,, and I held my breath as he walked past without even glancing my way, one hand shoved into the pocket of his hoodie while the other lazily held his bag strap..

Only after he disappeared down the hallway did I carefully peek around the corner, and then against my better judgment, I started following him.
