Chapter 893
Third Person’s POV
Another student was Sasha Hale. The Blackwood Pack she belonged to also had a long history in New York.
The alpha who founded the pack had offte fought alongside the first Lycan King during his campaign across the werewolf continent, playing a key role in the establishment of the Northern Kingdom. As a result, the descendants of the Blackwood Pack were recognized as founding members of the kingdom
However, in recent generations, the alphas had grown increasingly weak, completely lacking the strength and ambition of their predecessors, who once conquered rival empires. Now, the Blackwood Pack was merely a minor noble family in New York, rarely appearing at royal social gatherings.
More importantly, before Lycan Erasmus ascended the throne, they had been closely allied with Ansley of the Silverfeather Pack. Since Ansley was Iris’s son, they feared the king would suspect them of taking sides in factional conflicts. As a result, they kept a low profile within their pack and rarely ventured outside.
Many years ago, at a matchmaking event hosted by New York’s noble families, Sasha’s aunt and Stanley’s uncle discovered they were fated mates. After forming their bond, they had been together ever since.
As a result, Sasha and Laila had played together since childhood and naturally became close friends.
On top of that, Valens’ granddaughter Winter was cheerful and skilled in combat. The few spoiled noble she-wolves naturally formed a clique, and they would gang up on anyone who dared challenge them.
They often caused trouble at the academy, bullying other common-born students, and even openly showed no respect for their instructor, Abigail.
Part of their grudge against Abigail stemmed from the fact that she had once had a secret romance with Eugene, though they ultimately never bonded.
At the time, few people knew about it, but now that Abigail was teaching at the academy, someone had dug up an old rumor from years ago. Laila and her friends deliberately spread fabricated stories about it, spreading completely false claims among the students.
They spread rumors that Abigail had looked down on Eugene for being too old, but once she saw his achievements on the battlefield and learned he was likely to be promoted after returning to New York, she decided to make him her mate.
In truth, her wolf instinct had never recognized Eugene as her mate.
Later, when she saw that Lycan Erasmus had not arranged a suitable position for Eugene in the capital, she chose to walk away and ended their relationship.
Who would have thought that not long after their separation, the king would later place Eugene in an important position.
So Laila and her friends often mocked Abigail in private, saying she was too opportunistic and not fit to be an instructor at the She-wolf Academy.
After learning about everything, Adelaide could only let out a heavy sigh.
She hadn’t expected jealousy and hostility among the students to become so destructive.
After these unverified rumors spread throughout the academy, more and more students openly demanded that Abigail be removed as their instructor.
If it were just this minor issue, Adelaide wouldn’t have been worried, as there were many ways to resolve i properly.
The two of them sat down.
Adelaide glanced at the assignments in front of her and, remembering Abigail’s grim expression when she arrived, asked, “Didn’t they turn in their assignments on time?”
Abigail handed over the top few papers.
“Please see for yourself.”
Adelaide took them, flipping through as she listened to Abigail explain, “I only gave them a simple topic and asked them to write an essay. They did turn thein in on time, but the handwriting is messy, the arguments are unclear, and they even invented random myths about ancient werewolves in their essays.
Adelaide turned a few pages.
All those essays told the same story.
In the Middle Ages, there was a she-wolf named Abigail who was obsessed with wealth and despised those who had fallen into poverty. After her fated mate’s pack was attacked by a rival pack and suffered devastating losses, she abandoned him, unwilling to tie herself to a fallen pack.
The alpha she abandoned went on to become the kingdom’s most exceptional young werewolf, earning its highest honors and forming a mate bond with the daughter of the Council’s head.
Consumed by jealousy, Abigail encountered the he-wolf’s mate by chance in a jewelry store. Driven by rage, she bared her fangs and claws and murdered her. In the end, she was executed for her crime.
It was clear that they were using this myth to hint at and mock the elegant young woman in front of Adelaide.
