Amber glared at Lucian, who was reacting to the mention of Sharif Madison as if someone had just stomped on his tail. "That's right, Lucian. Mr. Madison isn't like you. He doesn't burn bridges or stab people in the back the second they outlive their usefulness. His vision and character have absolutely nothing to do with his background. Even if you two swapped lives, you wouldn't be a third of the man he is!"
"Amber!"
Pfft—!
Lucian was probably so blinded by rage that he entirely forgot about the instant ramen he had eaten earlier. Having already run to the bathroom multiple times, he lost control in the heat of the moment. Amidst a long, horrifyingly loud fart, Joanne instantly recoiled, throwing a hand over her nose.
Vance and Tillie stared with wide eyes. Vance instinctively shielded Amber, while Tillie frantically slammed the lid back onto Amber's unfinished lunchbox.
"Eww, Lucian, did you just shit yourself?" Vance looked absolutely disgusted.
Joanne looked deeply uncomfortable. "Lucian! Amber, this is all your fault! If you had just eaten out when you bought your laptop at lunch, Lucian wouldn't have had to eat instant ramen and get an upset stomach! You need to take responsibility for this, Amber."
Lucian's face flushed crimson.
—This was the ultimate humiliation!!!
He was a grown man, and he had just soiled himself in the middle of a classroom.
"You just wait." Lucian turned and bolted for the restroom.
Joanne looked both disgusted and mortified.
Vance burst into hysterical laughter. "Joanne, don't forget to buy the class president some clean underwear and uniform pants! Don't worry, we totally won't tell anyone the class president crapped his pants."
Hahaha.
Vance laughed so hard there were tears in his eyes.
Amber simply glanced at the half-eaten chicken leg still in her hand. "Well, now we've actually wasted food. However..." A wicked smile played on Amber's lips. "Joanne, you blame me for taking up a spot in the cafeteria, forcing Lucian to eat ramen, right? Why don't you take this and feed it to him? It might be the cure he needs. Want it?"
She offered the chicken leg to Joanne.
Joanne's eyes widened in horror. "Amber!"
She genuinely couldn't believe Amber could be this vicious. Was this all because Lucian had suddenly changed his mind and liked her now? She was insane. Instead of keeping her own man in check, she was taking it out on her.
She better watch her back. Lucian was going to make her pay for this.
Joanne furiously stormed off after Lucian.
She hadn't wanted to spend the money, but she hadn't secured the full fifty-thousand-dollar payout yet. Plus, Lucian had been so spoiled by Amber's care that he was practically high-maintenance now. She had been forced to run out of the school and buy him a nineteen-dollar pair of cheap pants.
Lucian was scrubbing himself down, aggressively throwing his soiled school pants straight into the trash can.
It was filthy and endlessly humiliating. This was all Amber's fault. If it weren't for her, he wouldn't have made such an embarrassing spectacle of himself.
And she dared to say he wasn't a third of the man Sharif Madison was?! Bullshit! Sharif just had the luck of a better background and happened to be slightly better looking. Take away those advantages, and he was nothing! Just wait until finals were over. He would make both of them bow down to him.
"I'm fine. Joanne, I'm sorry for making you worry again."
Lucian's face was still pale. He was severely dehydrated.
Seeing him step out, Joanne let the tears fall. "Lucian, I should be the one apologizing. I'm so useless. I should have made you go to the nurse's office first. If we had just gone there, you wouldn't have..."
"Stop blaming yourself, Joanne. It's not your fault. It's Amber's fault," Lucian quickly consoled her.
Joanne cried even harder. "How is this Amber's fault? But... Lucian, back in the classroom, you said Amber got the Madison Group sponsorship? How do you know that? It seemed like you and Amber were both really familiar with the CEO. Are you guys... relatives or something?"
Lucian: "..."
