Two Reborn, One Throne novel Chapter 28

The man was dressed in a sharp, dark suit that perfectly tailored his commanding frame.

His flawlessly styled hair moved slightly with every long, purposeful stride he took.

His features were impeccably sharp, his dark eyes piercing, and he radiated an aura of untamed arrogance that was perfectly restrained by an overwhelming sense of elegance.

The expensive diamond cufflinks on his wrists caught the light, gleaming brilliantly as his long, elegant fingers adjusted them.

It looked like Sharif had just stepped out of a high-level executive meeting. Exactly like in her past life, he moved with the speed and intensity of a storm. The greatest skill Amber had acquired during her three years as his secretary was the ability to sprint into meetings in stilettos with the unflinching stability of a special ops soldier.

But there were differences.

When Amber first met him in her previous life, he was already in his thirties. Now, he was barely in his twenties—much younger and, undeniably, much more handsome.

However, he still loved polka-dot ties. Amber had pointed it out to him multiple times back then, but for whatever reason, this man was absolutely obsessed with them. No matter which bespoke suit he wore, the polka-dot tie was mandatory.

She used to wonder if that specific quirk was why he had remained single well into his forties.

Back then, Amber often thought to herself—he was single strictly by his own merit.

If he wasn't so aggressively attached to things like polka-dot ties, with his looks and wealth, he'd have women lining up around the block. Of course, the reality was that he remained single simply because he wanted to be.

The interview was strictly five minutes. Every candidate recommended here had prepared extensively.

As the wealthiest man in Riverport, Sharif's time was literally worth hundreds of millions a minute. For him to personally interview these students was an incredible show of respect. If a candidate knew what was at stake and still wasted his time, Sharif wouldn't say a word; he would simply reject them immediately.

He absolutely despised wasting time or expending massive effort on low-efficiency tasks.

It went entirely against his nature as a ruthless businessman.

The interview consisted of a single prompt: *What can you bring to Madison Group, why should you join us, and what is your vision for the company's future?*

Madison Group was well aware of this gap, which was why they had leaked the prompt ahead of time to let the students prepare. Ironically, the students had over-prepared. Not a single one had hit the mark. They had all spoken in idealistic platitudes, and the few with actual insights had spent their five minutes blowing hot air, trying to paint a massive, unrealistic picture, assuming that the bigger the illusion, the higher their chances of securing the bag.

Sharif's elite team was completely speechless. *Were these kids seriously trying to teach them how to do business?*

As Amber stepped inside, no one said a word. She didn't speak either. She just stood there, straight as a board, like a speaker at a podium waiting for the principal to give her the floor.

Sharif was flipping through her file. *Ranked tenth in her class, zero academic competition awards, zero notable extracurriculars, incredibly average appearance.* Looking at her photo, she looked like she hadn't even hit puberty yet. With her high school uniform, she looked more like a middle school freshman. Sharif couldn't tell if she had actually ripped this photo straight from her middle school yearbook.

She probably had. Time was tight, so she had just made do.

However, she was wearing his favorite color—pink. That alone warranted him looking up at her.

But Amber didn't know that. Sharif didn't even lift his head. Just like the years she spent as his secretary, he remained entirely glued to his documents. Back then, he would even order his coffee and lunches without ever breaking eye contact with his files.

Suddenly noticing the room had gone completely silent, Sharif raised an eyebrow and finally looked up at Amber. His immediate reaction was annoyance. "Are you waiting for an invitation?"
