Yvonne didn't want to be useless either. She was even more frustrated than Joanne, but her hands were tied. This involved the core secrets of her family's empire. Even if she wanted to destroy Amber, she had to weigh the risks.
Leaving the luxury apartments, Yvonne drove straight to a private club and threw a hysterical fit, smashing the VIP room to pieces.
"Damn it, Amber, you bitch!"
With nothing left to break, Yvonne clenched her fists and screamed.
When Miles Yates got the call from the club manager, he thought Yvonne had succeeded. Instead, he heard the sound of shattering glass. He waited outside until she completely lost her voice before pushing the door open.
He was entirely unfazed by the wreckage on the floor. His narrow eyes narrowed slightly. "Where did it go wrong?"
Seeing him enter, Yvonne lunged forward and grabbed him by the throat. Miles didn't resist. Yvonne's face was twisted in rage. "She really is sleeping with him."
Just thinking about the threat Amber had leveled at her made Yvonne absolutely certain that Sharif treated her with far more intimacy than Joanne had even described.
She had grown up following Sharif around, idolizing him her entire life, yet he refused to marry her.
When his company was in crisis, all he had to do was nod his head, and he wouldn't have had to shoulder so much debt. But he stubbornly refused.
Yvonne became the laughingstock of their elite social circles, a total disgrace to her family.
She just couldn't understand. What was wrong with her?
He would choose Amber, but not her.
Miles knew she needed to vent, so he let her cry and scream, letting her hands stay wrapped around his throat. Even when he could barely breathe, he didn't push her away.
Only when she was completely exhausted did he scoop her up with one arm and tell the staff to clean the room. He carried her upstairs to his private suite.
Yvonne didn't utter a single word the entire time, seemingly accustomed to this routine.
Miles set her down on the plush sofa and poured her a glass of warm water. Seeing that she had finally calmed down, he leaned against the armrest, crossing his legs. "Leave the rest to me. Don't be angry anymore."
Yvonne looked up at him. "You?" Her face twisted into a sneer. "If you just want a taste of her, say so. Don't act like you're doing this for me."
She set the water glass down and leaned lazily against the sofa.
Miles chuckled. "You can think whatever you want. I won't deny it crossed my mind. Especially the thought of watching such a feisty little rose begging on her knees for my mercy. It would be absolutely breathtaking."
He absentmindedly spun the jade ring on his thumb, his peach-blossom eyes flashing with a predatory lust that felt sickening to Yvonne.
It was as if he was already playing out his twisted fantasies in his head.
"What, Joanne isn't fun enough for you anymore? Only the thorny ones get you going?"
Yvonne had zero interest in his mind in the gutter, but if he was willing to step in, she was more than happy to let him.
"How do you plan on getting to her?" Yvonne warned him that this student was dangerously sharp. She didn't want him failing right out of the gate like she had.
Miles smiled, his alluring, slightly feminine face taking on a sinister edge. "I'll handle her the way a man always handles a woman, of course."
Hearing this, Yvonne burst into laughter. "Alright then. Here's to hoping you get the girl soon."
She picked up her glass from the coffee table, smiling seductively.
Where on earth did Amber get this information?
"Are you asking me? Who am I supposed to ask?" Sharif raised an eyebrow at him.
Julian was speechless.
True. If the boss knew how she did it, he wouldn't have hired private investigators to dig into her background in the first place. Thank God Amber was an ally for now. If she were an enemy, she could bankrupt the company in a heartbeat.
—She was utterly ruthless!
It was like she was playing life with cheat codes.
"Sir, do you think she has some kind of psychic powers?"
Julian was seriously starting to believe it.
Otherwise, there was no logical explanation for these bizarre events.
Sharif chuckled. "Why don't you try jumping off the roof of the Madison Group building and see if she predicts it?"
Julian had nothing to say to that.
"Yvonne won't just let this go. Go make some arrangements for the golf match with Director Brooks tomorrow. Make sure word of her behavior reaches her father's ears. It's better he finds out what a mess his daughter is making before it's too late," Sharif instructed.
Julian knew it. There was no way the boss would just sit back and do nothing.
"Understood. Should we also inform Amber about who originally sent Yvonne after her?"
