Two Reborn, One Throne novel Chapter 12

After Lucian walked out with his backpack, he noticed Joanne wasn't replying to his texts, so he gave her a call to ask where she was.

Joanne claimed she was at the trendy shopping district downtown and hadn't heard her phone because it was too loud.

When Lucian arrived, he found Joanne trying on a leather skirt in a high-end luxury boutique.

Joanne was stunning, with a unique, captivating aura.

The skirt she was trying on not only showed off her long legs perfectly but also accentuated her sultry, seductive charm. Seeing Lucian walk in, she shot him a dazzling smile and struck a pose. "Lucian, does this skirt look good on me?"

Lucian was completely mesmerized. From the very first moment he laid eyes on Joanne, he knew she perfectly embodied his teenage fantasies. Yet, he never imagined that one day she would be smiling at him so freely and brazenly.

Lucian thought this feeling was absolutely incredible.

Amber had long legs too, but compared to Joanne, Lucian felt this was exactly his type. She didn't even need to strike a provocative pose to tug at his heartstrings.

Unlike Amber, who could parade around in lingerie and still leave him entirely uninterested unless he simply needed to scratch a physical itch.

"It looks amazing. You're beautiful." Lucian praised her genuinely.

Seeing the undeniable flicker of desire in his eyes, Joanne knew she had him wrapped around her finger. Feigning a pout, she sighed, "I think it's gorgeous too, but... it's just too expensive. I can't afford it."

With that, she turned back toward the fitting room.

Lucian immediately asked, "How much is it? Joanne, I'll buy it for you."

Joanne gasped softly, her expression of innocent surprise perfectly executed. "Oh, no, we shouldn't. Lucian, this skirt is really pricey. It's over three thousand dollars."

Lucian almost blurted out, "It's only three thousand? I thought you were going to say three hundred thousand! Even if it were three million, I'd buy it for you if you liked it."

But he suddenly remembered he was currently a penniless high school student. The massive billionaire fortune he had amassed in his past life wouldn't materialize for another ten years.

But... this was his first time buying Joanne a gift. Lucian refused to let his first shopping trip with her end in a poor impression. "Just wait here a second," he said hurriedly.

Joanne had no idea what he was doing as he pulled out his phone, downloaded some banking apps she didn't recognize, and frantically typed away. When she finally understood what was happening, she was stunned—Lucian was using his mother's savings to buy her a skirt?

Stealing such an excellent guy right out from under Amber's nose made the victory taste incredibly sweet.

Still, she had to maintain her pure, sweet persona. "Lucian, maybe we should skip it. We're still students, and a three-thousand-dollar skirt is just too extravagant. Let's not get it. Besides..." Joanne bit her lip nervously. "If Grace finds out you took her money to buy me clothes, she'll kill you."

"Lucian, I don't want you getting in trouble. No matter how pretty the skirt is, it's not worth you getting hurt."

Joanne told the cashier to hold off on scanning the payment code.

Lucian, staring at this gentle, kind-hearted girl, only wanted to spoil her even more. "Joanne, this isn't my mom's money; it's mine. Don't forget, I get scholarships every year. I've been saving up. I can easily afford three thousand dollars."

Joanne's eyes lit up the moment she heard he had his own cash. Her gaze immediately drifted over to a luxury handbag on display. If Lucian really had that kind of money, could she coax him into buying that bag she had been eyeing forever?

But if she asked for it outright, it would make her intentions too obvious. Her mind immediately began calculating her next move.

She gazed at Lucian with big, affectionate doe eyes. "Lucian, you're honestly too amazing. I never dreamed anyone would treat me this well!"

The sales associate was sharp and clearly noticed Joanne eyeing the handbag. Selling the entire set would secure a three-thousand-dollar commission. She immediately flashed a professional, bright smile. "Sir, your girlfriend has a stunning figure. This leather skirt actually comes as part of a matching set. If you pair it with the handbag, the shoes, and a few of our accessories, the complete look would be absolutely flawless."
