Chapter 133
I was not going to let him think I was clinging to him. A man like Dominic Ford, with his money and his face and the particular way he occupied a room, was not going to be short of options the moment I walked out that door. He had probably already thought past this evening in ways Hhad not allowed myself to think.
I waited for him to take a shower and a few minutes passed by
Finally, the bathroom door opened and he came out in only a towel, his hair damp, water still on his shoulders. I had seen this man without clothes multiple times and yet my eyes moved over him without my permission, over the lines of muscle and the particular way he was put together, and I thought with a clarity that surprised me that I was going to miss this.
Not just the sex. Him. The way he said things. The way he did not say things. The way he had held my hand in the car for the entire drive without explaining why.
It was ridiculous. The time we had spent together was not long enough to justify missing someone this much. And yet.
“You are so beautiful.”
The words he had whispered while he was inside me, while his cock was buried deep in my pussy and his lips were pressed against my ear, rang back into my mind and I felt my lips curl into a smile without my permission.
He noticed. “You are that happy the plan worked?”
“No,” I said. “There was something you said earlier.”
He furrowed his brows. “What was that?”
I moved closer to him, close enough that I could smell the soap on his skin, could see the droplets of water still clinging to his shoulders, and I repeated the words in almost a whisper. “You are so beautiful.”
He chuckled, a low warm sound that vibrated through the space between us. “Ah.”
I nodded. “The wonders of the tongue when it gets carried away by the throes of passion.”
He moved, closing the distance I had left between us, and when he spoke his voice was low and certain. “But nothing I said was a lie. You are very beautiful, Celeste.”
