Trick Him Into Divorce, Then Flee With His Unknow Kid novel Chapter 384

Chapter 384: Chapter 384 Something is not right

Shuan was practically glowing.

He had clearly taken a liking to his new niece-in-law, and the thought of Rose and Trevor becoming a real couple seemed to delight him.

He had no idea about Rose and Ryan’s complicated history. As far as he was concerned, the two had simply hit it off.

"Honestly, I think it’s great," Shuan said with a grin. "They’ve been getting along all night. Maybe my sister will be holding a grandbaby sooner than any of us expected."

Ryan said nothing.

His gaze settled on the closed door.

There was nothing behind it now. No movement. No sound.

If Rose and Trevor were still on the ship, then the blackout had probably ruined whatever private evening they’d planned. But if they’d already left...

Ryan’s expression became impossible to read.

He didn’t like the thought of Rose being alone with Trevor.

Not even a little.

Alicia glanced toward the door before looking back at Shuan.

"Why didn’t I see them leave?"

"Oh, they didn’t use the main exit," Shuan explained casually. "They took one of the smaller boats. Probably wanted to avoid the crowd."

He laughed.

"Can’t blame them. If you’re trying to spend some private time together, having half the guests watching you isn’t exactly ideal."

Alicia’s fingers curled around the keycard in her hand.

She stared at the door for several seconds before forcing a smile.

"I see."

Shuan, completely oblivious to the tension beside him, turned toward Ryan.

"Mr. Knight, with your leg like that, I’ll have someone come and help you off the ship."

Ryan didn’t answer.

He simply lowered his gaze.

Shuan took the silence as agreement and walked away to make arrangements.

Alicia remained beside Ryan.

After taking a slow breath, she turned toward him.

"It looks like I was worried for nothing. Professor Bennett is fine. And Mr. Robinson seems to be taking good care of her."

She smiled faintly.

"Looks like they decided to get a head start on their romantic evening."

With that, she stepped behind Ryan’s wheelchair and reached for the handles.

"Let me take you down. You shouldn’t be pushing yourself with your leg hurt."

Ryan’s hands moved first.

He gripped the wheels and rolled the chair forward, deliberately putting distance between them.

"No."

His voice was quiet.

Cold.

Final.

Alicia’s hand stopped in midair.

Ryan didn’t even look back.

He continued toward the exit on his own.

Alicia stood there, stunned.

She couldn’t understand it.

She hadn’t said anything inappropriate. She hadn’t crossed any obvious line. She’d been nothing but considerate toward him all evening.

So why did he seem to dislike even the slightest bit of contact from her?

She bit the inside of her cheek and watched him disappear into the crowd.

Yet somehow, his refusal only made him more intriguing.

A man who kept such rigid boundaries was rare.

Alicia’s gaze drifted back toward Trevor’s empty lounge.

If Shuan was right, then Rose and Trevor were already alone somewhere.

Her fingers tightened around the keycard of electricity room.

She stared at it for a long moment.

Then she slowly slipped it into her pocket.

"Mr. Knight!"

Owen came hurrying over.

"We need to get off the ship."

He glanced toward the chaos around them before lowering his voice.

"Do you want me to find Rose and bring her down?"

Ryan’s brows pulled together.

It was one of the few times all night that his expression openly betrayed what he was feeling.

He looked down at the lighter in his hand.

The tiny diamond that had once been set into it was gone.

His fingers closed around the lighter.

"No."

Owen hesitated.

"But things are getting chaotic. Aren’t you worried about her?"

Ryan finally looked up.

His eyes were cold.

"If she willingly chose to walk into someone else’s trap, why would I be the one expected to tear it apart for her?"

Owen stared at him.

He had absolutely no idea what that meant.

Ryan closed his eyes for a moment.

Tonight hadn’t happened by accident.

The Ellis family had deliberately put Rose in the middle of everything, treating her like some kind of prize.

The Robinsons hadn’t exactly helped.

Both families had interfered far too much in the younger generation’s lives, as though they had already decided how everything would end.

And if Julian hadn’t tipped them off, the Ellis family might never have gone this far.

Ryan opened his eyes.

The warmth had disappeared completely.

"Find Rose."

Owen nodded.

Ryan was about to say something else when he suddenly stopped.
