Aria's POV
"Take those off," I whispered, nodding at his glasses.
"Why?" His voice was low, dangerous.
"Because..." I swallowed hard. "Because I can't think straight when you look at me like that."
A slow, predatory smile spread across his face. "That's exactly why they're staying on."
I didn't have time to respond before he was on me, his weight pressing me into the mattress. His hands pinned mine above my head while his mouth claimed every inch of exposed skin it could find.
"MINE," he growled against my throat, teeth grazing the sensitive spot beneath my ear.
"Look at me," he commanded, and I forced my heavy eyelids open to meet his gaze.
Those dark eyes behind those damn glasses were consuming me alive. He looked like sin personified—controlled yet wild, refined yet primal. The contradiction was maddening.
When he finally pushed into me, I cried out, my back arching off the bed. Every nerve ending in my body seemed to catch fire as he established a rhythm that was simultaneously too much and not enough.
"Harder," I begged, not recognizing my own voice.
He obliged without hesitation, his hips snapping forward with such force that the headboard began to hit the wall. I didn't care—couldn't care about anything beyond the exquisite pressure building inside me.
"Come for me," he demanded, his voice rough with exertion. "NOW."
My body obeyed instantly, convulsing around him as pleasure crashed through me in violent waves. I screamed his name, my nails digging into his shoulders as he continued driving into me, prolonging my release until I thought I might pass out from the intensity.
Only when I started to come down did he allow himself to follow, his body tensing above mine as he reached his own climax with a deep, guttural groan that sent aftershocks rippling through me.
We collapsed together, a tangle of sweaty limbs and ragged breathing. His glasses had somehow survived the encounter, though they sat slightly askew on his nose. I reached up with trembling fingers to remove them, setting them carefully on the nightstand.
"I may never recover from that," I murmured, my voice hoarse.
He chuckled, the sound rumbling through his chest as he pulled me against him. "Good."
We lay in comfortable silence for several minutes, his fingers tracing idle patterns on my bare shoulder.
"You never finished telling me," he murmured into the comfortable silence between us. "What was that question from earlier?"
The contentment I'd been basking in evaporated instantly. I froze against him, suddenly remembering the awkward conversation with Summer about maternity leave policies. Now definitely wasn't the time to bring up babies—not when we'd just finished making love and were still tangled in each other's arms.
But my hesitation only seemed to intensify his curiosity.
"Aria?" His hand stilled on my back.
I buried my face deeper against his chest. "It's nothing important."
"Try me," he said, voice gentle but persistent.
