Too Late Mr. White! I'm Married To Your Rival Now novel Chapter 338

Aria's POV

I watched Aiden standing in the entryway, changing his shoes. His glasses sat perfectly on his strong, straight nose—something I rarely saw outside our home.

"Why are you wearing glasses today?" I asked, taking his coat from his hands.

"Had a video conference," he replied, his arm snaking around my waist without warning.

Remembering Lucy was in the house, I felt suddenly self-conscious and pressed my hands against his chest, trying to create some distance between us. My attempt backfired spectacularly—instead of releasing me, he pulled me closer until my body was practically flush against his.

Aiden lowered his head, his warm breath fanning across my face. My cheeks instantly heated as I stared at him up close. With those glasses on, he had this whole intellectual-but-dangerous vibe going on that was doing strange things to my insides.

God, just looking at him was making my thoughts wander to dangerous territory.

I swallowed hard, feeling my face grow not just warm but properly red now.

Aiden noticed my blush, his dark eyes flickering with interest before he leaned down to press a kiss against my forehead. "How did the meeting with your assistant go?" he asked, finally releasing me.

"It was good, except there's one question..." I trailed off, suddenly too embarrassed to continue.

"What question?" His eyebrow arched with curiosity.

Just then, Lucy emerged from the dining room, smiling at both of us. "Sir, ma'am, dinner is ready."

Seizing the opportunity for distraction, I quickly said, "Can I tell you after dinner?"

Aiden studied me for a moment. "Alright."

"Let's eat first!" I practically fled to the dining room, still clutching his suit jacket against my chest.

It wasn't until I reached the table that I realized I was still holding his coat. Aiden followed behind me at a leisurely pace, the corner of his mouth lifting when he saw me standing there awkwardly with his jacket.

"I'll take that," he said, extending his hand.

Feeling foolish, I handed it back to him.

Lucy set out the food and retreated to the kitchen, leaving just the two of us in the dining room. I kept my head down, sipping my soup, terrified Aiden would bring up my unfinished question. We'd only just started being intimate a few days ago—talking about having children now seemed way too fast. What if he thought I was trying to trap him?

Lost in my worries, I accidentally took a huge gulp of hot soup and started coughing violently.

"What happened?" Aiden's voice was laced with concern.

I looked up with watery eyes. "Went down the wrong way."
