Her heart dropped into her stomach, a phantom hand squeezing her chest so tightly she couldn't breathe.

*"If you're hurt, tell me! It's not like I'm going to be mad at you! Lying to me just makes me lose my mind with worry!"*
Slouching deeper into the sofa, he typed back: *"I promise it looks worse than it is. A few days of rest and I'll be good as new. Don't stress."*
*"How am I supposed to not stress?"*
Dani's response was instant. *"You're in a foreign city with no medical backup and no one to look after you. How am I supposed to sleep knowing that?"*
It felt as though their fractured love finally had a destination, yet it also felt incredibly fragile.
It was exactly what happily ever after was supposed to look like.
But was he actually going to live to see it?
He honestly didn't know.
A quiet dread gnawed at the back of his mind.
Alex squeezed his eyes shut.
He drew in a long, shaky breath.
Yes. He was going to go home, marry her, and they would never be apart again.

Although she was one of the protagonist (and best friend of Danielle), I'm really annoyed with Kristen. What does she actually want? She wants to be completely free from Gian, whatever their business is. But when Gian doesn't care about her, she gets annoyed and overthinks. Hey, Kristen, the world doesn't revolve around you. You may follow your own feelings, but that doesn't mean you can ignore other people's feelings at all!...
It seems like this novel will end at chapter 5000. Every time one issue ends, another one pops up, and it seems like the author is just trying to drag it out. I'm starting to get tired of reading it....
I hope daniele will have no end game with alexander since whatever the reason is, he only give her too much grievencess. I hope there will be another male character with stronger present than alexander to have the end game with daniele.
