Just as he was about to burst through the fire escape, a dark figure lunged from behind a shipping container, throwing a heavy punch aimed straight at his chest.

Anticipating the ambush, Alex twisted sideways to dodge the blow, driving his own fist into the man's face. The attacker grunted and crumpled to the ground.

He didn't break stride. Slipping through the exit, he sprinted toward the car waiting in a nearby alley.

One of his men, Chen, who was waiting in the alley, immediately fired up the engine and threw the door open.

Alex dove into the passenger seat, and the vehicle peeled out like a bullet, racing toward the city center and leaving their pursuers eating dust.

It was midnight by the time they returned to the apartment.

Stripping off his grimy outer jacket, Alex revealed a sweat-soaked undershirt. Dirt streaked his face, but a predatory glint still shone in his eyes.

"Are you all right, Mr. Davidson?"

Lin stepped forward, his face etched with worry.

"I'm fine," Alex waved him off. He took the bottle of water Chen handed him, downed a large gulp, and lowered his voice. "Harold is holed up in the two-story building deep inside the district. But it's heavily guarded with multiple hidden sentries. Getting close won't be easy."

"I also noticed there are far more men stationed there than our intel suggested. It seems Harold's network in Penang is much larger than we anticipated."

"What's our next move?" Chen asked.

"Get some rest. We'll formulate a plan tomorrow."

Alex massaged his throbbing temples. "We blew our cover tonight, but we mapped out the terrain and confirmed his exact location. It wasn't a total loss."

With that, he turned, walked into his bedroom, and shut the door.

Ever since the breach at the port, Harold knew Alex had tracked him to Penang.
