The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1424

Alexander leaned against the stone marker, wiping the mix of sweat and mud from his face.

The Captain walked over and gave his shoulder a heavy pat. "I'm sorry, Mr. Davidson. He got away."

"But don't worry. I've already put in the request for cross-border jurisdiction. The second it gets approved, we're going after him."

Alexander shook his head, the ice in his eyes refusing to melt. "By the time the red tape clears, he'll be a ghost."

"Harold has spent years building his network overseas. Once he falls back into his own territory, finding him will be like finding a needle in a haystack."

He knew Harold too well. The man was meticulous and left nothing to chance. If he was running overseas, he already had a bulletproof safety net waiting for him.

If they waited for official police authorization, Harold would have buried himself deep in his underworld connections, disappearing without a trace.

"So what's your play?" the Captain asked, a flicker of concern crossing his face.

Alexander looked out at the foreign jungle. "I'm going over there myself. I'll track him down, even if I have to tear the country apart to do it."

"Absolutely not. It's suicide."

The Captain was quick to object. "That's not our turf. Harold has a massive syndicate over there. If you go alone, you're walking straight into the lion's den."

"I won't be alone."

Alexander replied coolly. "I'm taking my private security team. They're top-tier professionals. Plus, I have my own network and resources over there to keep me covered."

"Besides, as long as Harold is breathing, my family and everyone in Ashford are targets. I have to do this."

His mind was made up. No matter the risk, he was going to cross the ocean and end Harold once and for all.

A wave of guilt hit Alexander. He reached out, gently smoothing her hair. "I'm fine, don't worry," he murmured.

"But... he got away. He crossed the border and slipped overseas."

Danielle froze. She stared at him, the words dying in her throat.

Her worst nightmare had just come true.
