(Late for love) Chapter 5
I’d never seen Grant like this. For all the past years he’d been calm and composed. I never thought he would get jealous.
I remembered everything I did in college to make him jealous. I heard that the one who took the initiative had no initiative, so I started playing hard to get and spending time with other guys.
But Grant remained unaffected, walking past me without a glance. I realized this didn’t work for him.
We came back to the way I used to be around him. Six years passed in a flash.
Now, finally, I saw his jealousy, but it was too late.
I took my phone, trying to explain, but Wanda was one step ahead of me.“It’s probably Rosie’s friend! Girls often call some bestie husband!”
I didn’t correct her. I went back to my room and called Jake. He began with small talk.
“Did you eat?”
“It’s been raining in Austin. What about Dallas?”
At first, I answered, waiting for him to get to the point wai ke did was ad me irrelevant questions. I finally snapped, me?”
